Alienware teases Portfolio Expansion, launches 16″ Anti-Glare OLED gaming laptop and Area-51 Gaming Desktop with latest AMD Silicon at CES 2026

Alienware returns to CES 2026 with a mission to redefine PC gaming through innovative display technologies and enhanced performance. This year, they will introduce an ultra-slim gaming laptop and an entry-level laptop to reach more gamers.

Their CES 2026 lineup features powerful laptops and desktops, showcasing cutting-edge advancements based on community feedback.

OLED Built to Combat Glare

Building on the success of the award-winning QD-OLED monitors at CES 2025, Alienware is expanding its OLED technology to laptops this year. The Alienware 16 Area-51 and Alienware 16X Aurora are the first gaming laptops from Alienware to have high-quality anti-glare OLED screens. These screens reduce gloss by 32%, helping to lessen glare, reflections, and annoying fingerprint marks.

These improvements tackle a common issue for gamers with OLED screens—glare and reflections in bright settings—while keeping the amazing qualities of OLED.

These OLED panels deliver on every front:

  • 0.2ms Response Time that’s 15x faster than previous LCD technology (3ms) to ensure smooth gameplay.
  • HDR True Black 500 for deep, rich blacks.
  • 620 nits Peak HDR Brightness makes every cutscene immersive.
  • 120% DCI-P3 Color Volume delivers vibrant, true-to-life visuals.
  • VESA HDR ClearMR 9000 Certified virtually eliminates ghosting during high-speed scenes.
  • Anti-Glare Coating diffuses reflections without sacrificing color quality.
  • Pixel Protection with built-in AI software to manage panel health.
  • Durable Structure with 15kg of lid pressure testing and a 20,000-cycle hinge lifespan.

Alienware’s laptops now feature OLED panels, which was a major request from users. The team also added anti-glare technology, allowing users to game anywhere without distractions, regardless of lighting conditions.

More Silicon Choice Across Class Leaders

Beyond the innovative OLED panels on Alienware’s 16” form factors, the Alienware 18 Area-51 gaming laptop features a major performance upgrade with Intel Core Ultra 200HX processors and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. At CES 2025, the Area-51 Gaming Desktop was highlighted as Alienware’s powerful statement piece. The full-tower chassis is designed for enthusiasts with full ATX compatibility and expandability for future upgrades.

In Q1 of 2026, Alienware will configure a flagship desktop with the Ryzen 7 9850X3D processor and 2nd Gen 3D V-Cache technology, ensuring gamers can conquer any AAA title at maximum settings for years to come. The essence of the Area-51 experience remains, now enhanced with increased power.

Expanding the Portfolio: Ultra-Slim and Entry-Class Laptops

First, there will be a brand-new ultra-slim gaming laptop (~17mm thin) that combines high performance with easy mobility. The team aimed to create a laptop designed for gamers, but also great for people who need a strong device for creative work, productivity, and more. They focused on two main aspects: performance and flexible design.

  • Performance density – to pack as much performance as possible into the most compact design that the team could engineer. The result is a 16-inch laptop that is nearly 50% smaller in volume than our current 16-inch Area-51. It doesn’t aim for the same performance ceiling, but still delivers serious gaming capability with NVIDIA discrete graphics and new highly efficient CPUs.
  • Design versatility – with incredible build quality, premium materials, long battery life and a timeless aesthetic that performs in any environment. This is a more covert Alienware laptop than users are used to seeing but it’s just as iconic.

Available in 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, this laptop is perfect for those who want a great mix of gaming, creative work, and portability – it does a little bit of everything.

Next, the brand have an entry-level laptop that opens the door for more users. It’s carefully designed without cutting corners, providing solid gaming performance in a simple design at our lowest price point so far. While it may not match the high-end Area-51, it still meets Alienware’s standards by focusing on what matters most, like build quality, cooling, and performance.

Alienware is broadening its range to include different levels of performance, portability, and price. Whether you want top performance, a stylish look for any situation, or your first real gaming laptop, Alienware has an option for you.
