9,000 attendees recorded at kickoff of MILO Malaysia Breakfast Day 2026 in Sabah

The start of the MILO Malaysia Breakfast Day 2026 at Padang Merdeka, Sabah, has attracted around 9,000 MILO lovers for a morning of celebrating nutritious breakfasts and active living. Organized to promote healthier lifestyles, the event highlighted the value of a nutritious breakfast and morning physical activities, especially for families and younger Malaysians. Participants of all ages gathered before sunrise to start the 3-kilometre fun run at 6.30 AM.

Dato’ Sri Dr. Anil Sandhu, State Assistant Minister of Youth Development, Sports Advancement and Creative Industries of Sabah said, “We are grateful that MILO has long been a committed partner in supporting various local community sports development in Sabah such as the Karnival Sukan Sekolah Pedalaman, MILO® Hidup Bola and Rayzam Shah Athletic Club. Today, I am also honored to be here this morning to flag off MILO Malaysia Breakfast Day 2026. Looking around and seeing so many families here together it really warms the heart. MILO is a drink that has always been close to us – it gives you energy and it’s good for our children and our community.

Datuk Sr. Lifred Wong, Director General of Dewan Bandaraya Kota Kinabalu shared, “MILO has long held a special place in the hearts of Sabahans, becoming more than just a breakfast drink – it is part of our growing years, our school mornings and our shared memories across generations. We warmly welcome the MILO Malaysia Breakfast Day run in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. Programmes like this will definitely encourage Sabahans of all ages to start their day right and live an active lifestyle.”

“All 30 of us, from my mom and dad to my cousins, came here with excitement in our hearts, staying overnight here so we could wake up early and experience the incredible spirit of this run together. We travelled 40 km from Papar to join the event in Kota Kinabalu. It was never just about distance but about family, memories and the joy of being together. MILO has been part of my life since childhood, a symbol of energy and cherished moments that stay with you forever. So, thank you MILO for inspiring healthier lifestyles and creating these moments for families like ours to treasure for years to come,” said Afiqah Daid, 24.

“For us, age is never a limit to living actively. Since 2007, we have faithfully joined runs by MILO®  for the meaningful experiences and happy memories created along the way. Seeing people of all ages come together with smiles and positive energy inspires us. We hope our journey also encourages others, especially senior citizens, to keep moving and keep an active lifestyle healthy,” said Annie Chung Sheu Keng, 57 years old who joined the run with her husband and Yong Yun Fah, 61 years old.

Beyond the run, MILO lovers enjoyed mini games, fitness challenges, and interactive activities. Siti Asfadilah Abdullah, a 25-year-old university student from University Malaysia Sabah, expressed that her first MILO® Malaysia Breakfast Day Fun Run with friends was meaningful and exciting. “The event is filled with energy, friendship, and engaging activities,” she said.

The iconic MILO truck brought back nostalgic memories for participants, who reminisced about racing each other to get their drinks. Siti Asfadilah and her friends, Nurul Nabilah Nahrawi, Budisetiawan Julkarnain, and Tengku Afiq Tengku Khairul Faizi, look forward to future runs, celebrating friendship, health, and community spirit.

MILO Malaysia Breakfast Day will continue to Kuala Terengganu, Kuching, Kuantan, and Kota Bharu, concluding with a grand finale in Putrajaya on 12 July 2026.
