PROTON has confirmed the official name of its upcoming updated sedan as the 2027 PROTON S70 RS, as the brand also shares the first look at its refreshed design and selected features ahead of its official launch.
According to the brand, RS means Refined Sportiness. Based on the theme “Performance with Style”, the 2027 PROTON S70 RS improves on the current S70 with a bolder design, a sportier cabin and sharper driving performance.
The 2027 PROTON S70 RS adopts a more sports-focused design, featuring sharper styling, stronger proportions and contrasting accents. A redesigned grille, sporty skirts, 17-inch alloy wheels with red brake calipers, and an updated rear diffuser with quad exhaust finishers give the sedan a more assertive and purposeful appearance while retaining its sophistication.
This design continues inside, where the dual-tone cabin and red accents create a sportier feel. The floating centre console and ambient lighting add a modern touch, while the Commander Dial and Automatic Column Shifter keep key controls within easy reach. Together, these features give the 2027 PROTON S70 RS a more unified and driver-focused interior.
If you are expecting a bump on performance, then you might be slightly disappointed as it still retains the i-GT 1.5-litre turbocharged engine, paired with a 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission (DCT). 2027 PROTON S70 RS will go to the century from standstill in 7.5 seconds.
It is expected that the 2027 PROTON S70 RS will be launching via livestream on 10 November 2026 at 8:00 PM with a fashion showcase in collaboration with a renowned local fashion designer to bring the ‘Performance with Style’ theme to life.The event will be livestreamed on PROTON’s official social media platforms.
