UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd (UMWT) has officially launched the 2026 Toyota Yaris Cross, in both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV) variants.
The Yaris Cross enters a competitive Malaysian market, where demand is growing for vehicles that offer everyday usability and driving confidence. Offered from RM99,900.00 for the ICE variant and RM109,900.00 for the HEV variant, it reflects Toyota’s Multi-Pathway approach to mobility, providing customers with powertrain choices that cater to different needs, making it an appealing upgrade for those seeking a refined B-SUV experience.

The Yaris Cross has a striking design with strong body lines, short overhangs, and large wheels at the corners, giving it a confident SUV look while being compact enough for city driving. Its unique rear lights highlight its width, and the 18-inch alloy wheels add to its sporty feel.
Inside, the cabin mixes modern style with practical features. Soft-touch surfaces, sleek accents, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel create a stylish atmosphere, enhanced by a Blue Black color theme with blue stitching. The driver-focused area includes a 7-inch digital display, letting drivers customize how they see information.
Even though it’s compact, the Yaris Cross offers great practicality for daily use and weekend trips. The trunk has 471 litres of cargo space, with a two-level deck and underfloor storage to help keep things organized. The Yaris Cross offers two powertrain options. The ICE variant uses Toyota’s 2NR-VE engine and CVT transmission for efficient everyday performance and low ownership costs.
For enhanced efficiency, the hybrid variant combines the 2NR-VEX engine with an electric motor, achieving 111 PS. It operates in electric mode at low speeds, reducing fuel consumption and emissions while ensuring quieter urban driving. The lithium-ion battery is cleverly positioned beneath the rear seats to maintain luggage space and balanced weight distribution.
Safety is a top priority for the Yaris Cross. This model features the Toyota Safety Sense package, which includes Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) to help drivers stay aware and drive safely. These systems help monitor traffic, keep the car in its lane, and improve visibility at night.
