MINI has introduced three new models at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024: 2024 All-Electric MINI Countryman SE ALL4, MINI JCW Countryman ALL4, and MINI Cooper S. The 2024 All-Electric MINI Countryman SE ALL4 is a fusion of advanced technology and iconic design, representing innovation, performance, and the spirit of adventure. The 2024 MINI Cooper S pushes the boundaries of minimalism and pays homage to the classic MINI’s timeless design.
2024 All-Electric MINI Countryman SE ALL4 and MINI JCW Countryman ALL4
The latest MINI Countryman, characterized by its signature proportions and short overhangs, has grown significantly since its predecessor. It now boasts a spacious and comfortable interior with an additional six centimetres in height and thirteen centimetres in length. The crossover aesthetic appeal is further enhanced by wider wheel arches and a modern design. The front of the vehicle features an octagonal grille with intricate detailing, LED adaptive headlights with high-beam assistant, and three light signatures. The exterior features defined surfaces, a characteristic wraparound black band, and a slightly curved roof that melds into the C pillar.
The 2024 MINI Countryman SE ALL4 comes with the Favoured Trim, featuring roof and mirror caps in Piano black or Vibrant Silver, window slot cover, and door cladding elements in high-gloss black and optical skid plate at the front and rear. The 2024 MINI JCW Countryman ALL4 comes exclusively with the JCW Trim, featuring roof and mirror caps in red, a high-gloss black frame surrounding the front grille and logo, red and black bonnet stripes, high-gloss shaft cover, door cladding elements, and JCW Performance Brakes.
The interior of the 2024 MINI Countryman is designed to foster a feel-good atmosphere through warm materials. The spacious, curved dashboard features textile surfaces alongside the door cladding, crafted using two-tone recycled polyester fabric. Driving-related information is displayed on the MINI head-up display, while other functions can be easily accessed via the touch-sensitive centre icon or voice control. The interior is segmented horizontally at the central display, creating a distinctive upper and lower section with design elements above the line adopting a vertical orientation. The Countryman’s new proportions allow for extra width of nearly 3 cm in the shoulder and elbow areas, as well as a wide central armrest situated between the seats, which are upholstered in high quality Vescin vegan leather. The rear of the Countryman is even more luxurious, generously proportioned with an additional 2.5 cm shoulder width and adjustable backrests, while being equipped with backrests that can be individually adjusted in 6 positions, tilting up to 12°.
Other standard features for the Countryman are the interior and exterior mirror package, interior rear-view mirror with automatic anti-dazzle function, as well as electrically adjustable front seats with memory and massage functions for the driver seat, headliner anthracite and Harman Kardon 12-speaker surround sound systems. The rear seats are also adjustable exclusively for the 2024 MINI JCW Countryman ALL4.
As part of the Favoured Trim, the 2024 MINI Countryman SE ALL4’s interior is furnished with knitted fabric with elegant houndstooth pattern in Dark Petrol, coloured accent fabric strip and JCW sport seats made of Vescin Beading in Vintage Brown or Dark Petrol. With the JCW Trim, the JCW Countryman ALL4 features JCW-specific pattern in Red, Anthracite coloured accent fabric strip and JCW sports seats made of perforated Vescin in JCW Black with Red and Grey accents. While the Countryman SE ALL4 comes equipped with a sport steering wheel, the JCW Countryman ALL4 comes equipped with a JCW steering wheel. In terms of luggage volume, the Countryman SE ALL4 has a capacity of 460 litres, which can be expanded to 1,350 litres; while the JCW Countryman ALL4 accommodates 505 litres, expandable to 1,530 litres.
The latest MINI Countryman combines electric mobility with environmental sustainability. This includes dispensing of chrome decorative elements in the exterior and interior of the vehicle, light alloy cast wheels made from up to 70% secondary aluminium, current-excited synchronous motors without rare earth materials, and knitted surfaces made of recycled polyester for the interior, including the dashboard, vehicle floor, and floor mats.
The 2024 MINI Countryman is a unique and versatile vehicle that offers dynamic driving performance and versatility for adventures beyond urban areas. Its wide track width and increased wheelbase provide a strong foundation for driving, while its basic chassis provides an athletic character. The high-quality damping system and ultra preloaded anti-roll bars enhance steering precision and accuracy, while the integrated braking system ensures reliable stabilization. The mechanical adaptive chassis adapts to road conditions, with an increase in tyre diameter by 30mm and 20 mm increase in wheel width.
The 2024 MINI Countryman SE ALL4 delivers 313 hp and 494 Nm of torque, allowing for a century sprint in just 5.6 seconds. With a 66.5 kWh battery capacity and an electric range of up to 432 km, it can be charged using 22 kW AC charging or 130 kW DC fast-charging. The 2024 MINI JCW Countryman ALL4 is capable of 300 hp and 400 Nm of torque, achieving a century sprint in just 5.4 seconds. The JCW Countryman ALL4 is also equipped with Steptronic Sport transmission with double clutch and adaptive suspension.
The Countryman arrives with Driving Assistant and Parking Assistant Plus as standard. The former includes Lane Keep Assist, Manual Speed Limit Assist, Avoidance Assistance, Collision Warning, Junction Warning, Lane change Warning (Blind spot), Exit Warning, pedestrian and cyclist warning with city brake function including turning, Turn Warning in the case of oncoming traffic, Crossing-traffic Warning, and Road sign recognition. Meanwhile, Parking Assistant Plus comes with Park Assist, Reversing Assistant (up to 50m), Active Park Distance Control, Drive off monitoring, Parking view, Panaroma view, Rear Panaroma view, Remote 3D view, BMW Drive Recorder, and Anti-theft recorder (external).
To further elevate the user experience, additional driver assistance functions including Driving Assistant Plus and Parking Assistant Professional will also be available to the New MINI Countryman. The former includes Active Cruise Control with Stop&Go, Steering and Lane Control Assistant, Manual and Automatic Speed Limit Assistant, while Parking Assistant Professional adds Remote Parking Function, Manoeuvring Assistant and Reversing Assistant (up to 200m).
2024 Mini Cooper S
The 2024 MINI Cooper S collaborate the classic features with modern design. Its compact proportions, round headlights, and distinctive grille make it a standout. The front design features flush surfaces and a signature clamshell bonnet, while adaptive LED headlights with high-beam assistant are functional. The vehicle also features three adjustable light signatures, triangular taillights, and a specially orchestrated welcome and goodbye animation.
The 18-inch Slide Spoke 2-tone light alloy wheels complement the car’s profile, while MINI logo projections are part of the welcome light show. The rear features triangular LED lights, a horizontal black handle, and a contracting roof and mirror caps in white. The interior is modernized with a new steering wheel, a first-in-automotive round OLED display, the signature MINI toggle bar, and a two-tone textile dashboard. The spacious cockpit features black-blue surfaces made of two-tone knitted material, a first in a series production vehicle for MINI. The interior highlights include a black strip in synthetic leather with coloured dashboard stitching, a three-spoke sport steering wheel in Vescin, and sport seats in perforated Vescin in Grey/Black with a blue textile insert.
Other interior features are interior and exterior mirror package, interior rear-view mirror with automatic anti-dazzle function, Harman Kardon surround sound system, MINI Head-Up display, Comfort Package Plus and the comfort access system. The Cooper S is rate with a space of 210 litres, which can be further expanded to 725 litres.
The New MINI Cooper S builds on its predecessor’s chassis with a sophisticated design for exceptional driving dynamics. The suspension and damping system aims for spirited handling, with high preloaded stabilisers generating a go-kart feel and optimized body responses around fast corners. Servotronic steering provides greater steering precision, allowing for high cornering speeds and an authentic feel with every steer. The steering and driving stability control systems can be set up for comfort or sporty driving, and the “Experiences” toggle switch activates various MINI Experience Modes.
The latest MINI TwinPower Turbo technology 2.0-litre engine delivers up to 204 hp and 300 Nm of torque, allowing for a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 242 km/h. The power is transmitted via a 7-speed double-clutch automatic Steptronic transmission, enhancing the gear changing experience and driving comfort.
The New MINI Cooper S features a MINI Interaction Unit that displays the functions of all driver assistance systems in real-time, ensuring maximum safety and comfort. Standard features include the Driving Assistant and Parking Assistant Plus, which include Lane Change Warning, Lane Departure Warning, Speed Limit Info, Manual Speed Limit Assist, Cruise Control with braking function, Front Collision Warning, Evasion Assistant, Rear Crossing Traffic Warning, Rear-end Collision Prevention, and Exit Warning. The new MINI models, including the Countryman SE ALL4, JCW Countryman ALL4, and Cooper S, offer a digitalized experience through the MINI Interaction Unit. The touch-sensitive high-resolution automotive grade OLED display, equipped with the new MINI Operating System 9, provides a modern and user-friendly format for vehicle-related information. The MINI Connected Package offers access to a variety of practical and entertaining apps through a third-party app store, enabling operations to be executed natively without the need for smartphone connection.
Furthermore, eight MINI Experience Modes are available, each offering dynamically designed backgrounds that can be selected according to personal preferences. The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant is MINI’s first fully fledged voice assistant, enabling voice-controlled navigation, telephony entertainment, and numerous other vehicle functions. The MINI App features new functions such as Remote 3D View, Remote Engine Start, MyTrips, and e-mobility functions like start/stop charging and setting a desired charge level.
The comprehensive MINI Connected Package provide access to a constantly evolving variety of practical and entertaining apps through a third-party app store. The MINI Digital Key Plus is also available through the MINI App, transforming a smartphone into a vehicle key. When the driver is less than three meters away, the welcome projection of the front headlights and taillights begins, and doors open when the driver is less than one and a half meters away. This convenient and personalised vehicle experience can be transferred digitally to different users, replacing the need to hand over the conventional vehicle key to facilitate car sharing.
