ZTE showcased latest integrated AI, connectivity and digital utility technologies at TNB Energy Transition Conference

Malaysia Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim visits the ZTE Malaysia exhibition booth during the TNB Energy Transition Conference and is briefed by Liu Bang, Managing Director of ZTE Malaysia.

ZTE Corporation presented its digital utility, AI, and infrastructure technologies at the TNB Energy Transition Conference, demonstrating how these solutions can aid modern power utilities and Malaysia’s energy transition goals.

The technologies presented by ZTE included Digital Utility Solutions for utility digitalization and smart grid communications, AI-driven platforms to enhance operational intelligence, and integrated grid connectivity for secure communications in utility operations.

The showcase also highlighted Smart Energy Innovations for energy optimization and Next Generation Optical Transport Networks for high-capacity connectivity. Together, these technologies improve operational visibility, strengthen grid resilience, and support advanced energy management. They align with digital utility transformation efforts, such as those by Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB), enhancing real-time monitoring and operational efficiency.

Liu Bang, Managing Director of ZTE Malaysia, said, “These technologies demonstrate how AI-driven platforms, intelligent connectivity, and optical transport networks can support the future of digital utilities and smart grid development.”

“Through our collaboration with Tenaga Nasional Berhad (TNB) on selected technology initiatives, ZTE continues to contribute its expertise and innovation capabilities. We remain committed to supporting utility digitalization and Malaysia’s broader energy transition aspirations,” Liu added.

In addition to its digital tools, ZTE showcased new mobile gaming devices, such as the nubia Neo 5 GT 5G, an affordable gaming smartphone with a cooling fan, and the REDMAGIC 11 Pro, featuring advanced liquid cooling and a hidden front camera for a full-screen experience. These devices highlight ZTE’s commitment to innovation in various tech fields.

Beyond the conference, ZTE has been testing smart metering solutions, which have proven technology reliability for utility operations. In Malaysia, ZTE’s teams and partners will assist utilities in enhancing digital capabilities aligned with the National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), focusing on cleaner energy. This includes improved metering, grid reliability, and energy efficiency, supporting TNB’s goals for advanced metering infrastructure and future smart energy solutions. Through collaboration, ZTE aims to create flexible and reliable energy systems for the future.
