Setel has announced that users of app now can use Mesra points as payment method when shopping online for PETRONAS merchandise and active lifestyle apparel at PETRONAS Shop.
This new feature is an extension of the current Mesra loyalty programme where customers are rewarded with points beyond fuelling at PETRONAS stations and making purchases at Kedai Mesra – a much-anticipated enhancement for customers who are already using Setel Wallet for fuelling, parking, EV charging, motor takaful/insurance, road tax renewal, 24/7 auto assistance, purchases, and more across PETRONAS petrol stations, retail partners, and online merchants.
This initiative is aligned with Setel’s mission as a mobile platform that aims to delight customers by innovating for better, inclusive mobility as it provides a new payment option for customers to use their Mesra points to shop for PETRONAS merchandise via the Setel app.
“We hope this new payment method will allow customers to enjoy a holistic Setel ecosystem offering where they get to earn and pay with Mesra points for our products and services, while we continue efforts in delivering an assortment of merchandise within the active lifestyle segment that is affordable and accessible to all,” said PETRONAS Shop CEO, Faizal Sulaiman.
For customers to use Mesra points when making purchases on PETRONAS Shop, all they need to do is to select Mesra points as a payment method upon checkout, and this step can be topped-up with other online payment methods too, should their points balance be insufficient.
Earlier this year, as part of its effort to reward loyal customers, PETRONAS Shop introduced a Mesra membership mirroring the Setel app’s Junior to Hero tiering where these customers get access to early bird previews and discounts that are made exclusive to them depending on the category they belong to. This move will allow customers to reap greater benefits of frequent use of the Setel app in the long run.
In conjunction with the launch, PETRONAS Shop will also be running a contest where the first 10 customers to redeem a cumulative total of 30,000 Mesra points on the PETRONAS Shop online store will win 10,000 additional Mesra points. The contest will run from 8th September to 17th September 2023.
