Malaysia’s Prime Minister, YAB Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim, inaugurated CD:NXT, CelcomDigi Berhad’s flagship initiative to nurture Malaysia’s digital leaders. This programme aims to empower 5,000 Malaysian youth with skills in AI and technology, promoting Malaysia’s 5G-AI driven digital economy.
CD:NXT is a long-term initiative focused on developing AI-native professionals through collaborations with technology and university partners. It offers an industry-aligned curriculum to enhance employability and foster changemakers committed to sustainability and inclusive growth.

At the launch, CelcomDigi welcomed the first cohort of 20 promising young talents into its CD:NXT Young Talent Programme, selected from a competitive pool of 3,600 applicants through rigorous assessments by various leadership layers. These individuals represent the nation’s brightest emerging talent, chosen for their exceptional potential in critical digital fields.
CD:NXT will build a future-ready AI talent pipeline through three key programmes:
- Young Talent Programme (YTP) – A two-year track for high-potential graduates focused on eight future-critical skills including AI, cybersecurity, cloud engineering, and sustainability.
- CelcomDigi UniConnects – A strategic university-industry bridge that aligns academic curricula with real-world digital demands, enhancing graduate employability and industry readiness.
- Student Ambassador Programme – A leadership and innovation platform that empowers students to become changemakers in digital inclusion and sustainability.
