vivo Y100 5G officially launched in Malaysia for RM1199

vivo Malaysia has officially launched the latest vivo Y100 5G, which offers style and functionality for just RM1199, with one variant, 8GB+256GB.

Offered in two colours, Purple Leather and Crystal Black, Y100 5G features an ultra-slim one-piece 3D flat design with EcoFiber Leather and Metallic High-Gloss Frame. The device features a 3D embossed line texture, embodying a sense of simplified, detailed and exquisite haute couture craftsmanship, seamlessly blending elegance with refined taste. The metallic decorative camera ring merges with the leather-like embossed line texture, brings a luxurious, polished as well as sophisticated effect that embodies simplicity and elegance.

The back cover of the Y100 5G is equipped with Anti-Stain Coating which help to resists stains, scratches, dirt, wear and UV ageing to some extent. The device is also IP54 dust and water resistance.

For the Malaysian market, it comes with 256GB storage capacity and powered by Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 chip with 8GB RAM. The intuitive Funtouch OS 14, coupled with the Memory Booster, ensures an uninterrupted operating experience that includes an extended RAM, enabling up to 8GB to facilitate smooth transitions between multiple apps and supporting over 25 active background apps. 

The RAM Saver compresses apps which reduces memory consumption by up to 600MB, while the App Retainer allows trust-listed apps to be easily accessed and restored to their last interface. This powerful combination enables uninterrupted task processing while guaranteeing a consistently smooth user experience.

The Y100 5G comes with a 6.67-inch 120 Hz Ultra Vision AMOLED Dotch Display complemented by a 300% Volume Audio Booster and Dual Stereo Speaker.

For camera, the rear has a 50MP Main Camera, a 8MP Ultra Wide Camera and a Flicker Sensor Camera while the front uses a 8MP front camera. The Ultra Wide Camera supports 120° (106° after wide angle correction) and algorithms that prevent distortion typical of traditional wide-angle lenses. There is a Photo Borders feature that offers a plethora of vivo borders and general options for creative editing. Additionally, the smartphone offers a diverse set of Portrait Light Effects and Multi-Style Portrait features, giving consumers the power to capture breathtaking portraits that rival those seen on celebrity profiles.

vivo Y100 5G also feature the Super Night Algorithm to capture amazing low light or nighttime environments. The Dual-View Video feature allows consumers to creatively take vlogs using both front and rear cameras simultaneously. Documents feature in the vivo Y100 5G magnifies readability and ease of saving by automatically correcting captured documents to a horizontally and vertically aligned format, eliminating angular deviations.

In the battery department, the Y100 5G is packing a 5000 mAh battery with 80W FlashCharge support, ensuring a rapid recharge that reaches 80% in approximately half an hour. Smart Charging Engine 2.0 feature on the device also helps to adapt to real-time charging scenarios, intelligently matching optimal charging strategies for enhanced efficiency.

To enhance battery health, the vivo Y100 5G incorporates its Overnight Charging Protection feature, which synchronises with users’ sleep patterns. This feature temporarily halts charging when the battery reaches 80% capacity during sleep and resumes just before waking up, effectively minimising battery ageing and ensuring long-term durability of the device.

In addition, the vivo Y100 5G goes beyond its optimised power-saving function by including the Super Battery Saver Mode and customizable Battery Saver Settings. Rigorous experiments validate that even after four years of use, the battery capacity remains above 80%, emphasising the device’s commitment to enduring performance.
