Viu has officially launched its latest Viu Original, Terlanjur Cinta, created by eteran producer Eirma Fatima. The series is Viu Malaysia’s first Ramadan offering, starring Puteri Balqis, Syafiq Kyle, Khir Rahman, Datin Seri Umie Aida, Syafie Naswip and Syafi Tee. The series will debut on 14 March 2024, with new episodes released every Thursday, Friday and Saturday throughout the month of Ramadan.Â
Terlanjur Cinta is created and produced by seasoned producer Eirma Fatima, creator of Perempuan Itu (2023). Eirma directed the classic Malaysian films Perempuan Melayu Terakhir (1999) and Embun (2002). She also produced the hit series Aku Bukan Malaikat (2012), Akulah Balqis (2014) and Pesan Dari Tuhan (2017). Meanwhile, the series is directed by actor-turned-director Izuan Mokhtar.
The series tells the story of Aishah, a young girl from an impoverished family. To save her drug addict brother from prison and lift her family from poverty, Aishah decides to accept a marriage proposal from the much older widower, Pak Majid. In doing so, she must set aside her budding romance with her childhood friend, Amir. Pak Majid is courteous and charming, and despite their age difference, Aishah finds herself falling for him. But just as she believes she can be happy, Pak Majid returns from a business trip with a second wife. With this comes a change in his demeanour. Meanwhile, Amir waits in the wings, wondering if he might finally have a chance to give Aishah the happiness she deserves.

Throughout Ramadan, Viu is also launching a series of exciting initiatives where Viu will visit 18 Ramadan bazaar locations in Klang Valley every week, distributing 10,000 pieces of exclusive Viu merchandise. In addition, there will be trucks strategically parked at malls featuring entertaining activations, giveaways and cast appearances each weekend.
