Viper Niza Racing Team aims for third podium finish for its third visit to the 12 Hours of Spa Francorchamps on 17-19 April 2026

In two visits to the famous Spa Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, the Viper Niza Racing Team has reached the winner’s podium, and this weekend (17-19 April) they aim for a third podium finish at Round 2 of the Michelin 24H Series.

Last year, the drivers Douglas Khoo, Dominic Ang, and Melvin Moh drove their #65 green Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO to 2nd place in the GT3 AM Class, 4th in the GT3 Class, and 6th overall among 37 international drivers, marking a great start to their 2025 Michelin 24H Series Europe campaign.

Earlier, the same trio won the PRO/AM class during their first visit to Spa Francorchamps in 2019 in the TCR SPA500 race, driving a Seat Cupra TCR DSG.

This year, Viper Niza Racing started the Michelin 24H Series at Mugello in Italy last month, finishing 4th in the GT3-AM Class in the 12-Hour race. They also placed 8th in GT3 and 10th overall, completing a total of 344 laps.

Spa Francorchamps is known for its challenging layout and is one of the fastest circuits in the world, stretching 7.004 km with 19 turns. The weather there can be unpredictable; last year, drivers dealt with a wet track during practice, but the race itself was completed in dry conditions.

“That is the beauty and appeal of Spa Francorchamps – its unpredictability. It is not a race to ever be taken lightly and despite our strong finishes at the circuit, we will go into this weekend taking nothing for granted but relying on our preparation, the racing strategy we will have mapped out and full focus. The goal is to make it on the podium but we are not going to allow past accomplishments to get into our heads. It’s a long race and conditions we are all too familiar with – in an endurance race, to finish first, you must first finish,” said Team Principal and lead driver Khoo.

A total of 44 cars will start the race weekend with Mercedes-AMG GT3 EVO cars comprising of the most number of cars in the GT3 Class, led by last year’s overall and GT3-AM Class winner HOFOR Racing. Also on the grid will be the Audi R8 of Continental Racing by Simpson by Motorsport who was second in the GT3-AM Class at Mugello last month.
