
SAKAMOTO DAYS, the latest anime from Japan that’s streaming on Netflix from 11 January 2025, will have their opening and ending theme sung by Vaundy and Conton Candy, respectively.
SAKAMOTO DAYS is written and illustrated by Yuto Suzuki, telling a story of the ultimate assassin, Taro Sakamoto, feared by villains and admired by other hit men – one day, fell in love!

When Sakamoto met Aoi the convenience store clerk, it was love at first sight; and just like that, he retired. Sakamoto got married, had a daughter, opened a mom-and-pop store in a quiet town, and completely transformed… into a plus size! To ensure a peaceful life with his beloved family, the legendary ex-hitman takes on a relentless stream of assassin attacks.

The opening theme for SAKAMOTO DAYS is performed by Vaundy, titled “RUN SAKAMOTO RUN” and will be digitally released on 12 January 2025 0:00.

According to Vaundy, he wrote “RUN SAKAMOTO RUN” to convey the inspirational protagonist Sakamoto’s overwhelming, unmatched strength. The song was recorded in London, which gave it a unique sound as he gives his all to create the piece.

As for the ending theme song, it is performed by Conton Candy with the track titled as “FUTSUU”, with digital release on 17 January 2025 0:00. This track is the girl group’s first anime tie-in as Conton Candy felt honoured to selected to perform.

As for those wonder why the track is called ‘FUTSUU’, Conton Candy said it’s because the lyrics reflect Aoi’s feelings toward Sakamoto. They’re filled with warm and heartfelt words and the girls hoped the listeners to listen closely and feel the emotions in the song.
