
Get Boosted, Malaysia — MILO, in collaboration with Vertex Esports, launched the nation’s first-ever esports inspired pickleball experience, marking an exciting milestone in its mission to energize and empower youth through sport. Rooted in the belief that sport is a great teacher, this initiative reinforces MILO’s long-standing commitment to youth development by fostering resilience, teamwork, and the tenacity to try something new.
Through the Ultimate Pickleball Tournament (UPT) powered by MILO which took place 6-7 September 2025 we created a bold fusion of physical sport and esports designed for today’s generation. “Through UPT, we’re not just hosting a tournament; we are creating an environment where youth can explore their potential and cultivate the tenacity to start, try, and grow together within their communities,” said Norkhayati Mohamed Hashini, Business Executive Officer of Ready-to-Drink NESTLÉ Malaysia. Pickleball is rapidly emerging in Malaysia as one of the fastest-growing sports due to its inclusivity and accessibility. It has transformed into more than just a game; it has evolved into a vital space for community development and youth engagement.

A standout feature of UPT is the introduction of Boost Cards powered by MILO, unique in-game power-ups that add exciting twists and bursts of energy to elevate gameplay. This esports layer mirrors how youth live and play today—with purpose, passion, and a love for the unexpected.
A grand total of 9 Boost Cards graced the arena – culminating in interesting strategies where the offense and defense happen not just on the courts, but also in the minds of players. Players have been seen to activate Boost Cards as an last attempt to stay in the match, or to assert total dominance over the courts.
Cards such as LEFTY RIGHTY that forced opponents to switch hands, or INVISIBLE PARTNER that forced opponents to play with one partner changed up the games – allowing teams that are behind to attempt something different to change the momentum and move forward.

Open to players with a DUPR (Dynamic Universal Pickleball Rating) of 3.5 and below, UPT is designed to foster grassroots participation and develop emerging talent, providing a competitive yet accessible entry point for new and rising players.
A total of RM36,000 in cash prizes has been won by the players. Beyond that, UPT delivered an immersive experience with hundreds of giveaways and interactive zones for the public.
