Traffickers: Inside The Golden Triangle to premiere in Malaysia on HBO GO from 23rd July

Traffickers: Inside The Golden Triangle, the HBO Asia Original documentary series that exposes the secretive epicenter of illicit drug production inside the Golden Triangle. The documentary series premieres exclusively on  HBO GO from 23 July and follows the rise and demise of three infamous drug kingpins in Thailand, Myanmar and Laos.

The three-part hour-long documentary series is the first documentary that lifts the lid on the hidden world of drug production in the Golden Triangle and dives into this mysterious secretive criminal underbelly revealing tales of some of the most infamous drug lords in the region. It unravels how ‘the Opium King’, ‘The Mekong River Pirate’ and ‘The Playboy Drug Lord’ exploited drugs, war and violenceto claw their way to the top. With exclusive interviews from members of their own inner circles, drug enforcement agents, and victims’ families, as well as never-before-seen archive footage and immersive recreations, Traffickers: Inside The Golden Triangle brings to life the crimes and busts that brought these drug kingpins to their knees.

In English, Thai, Burmese and Lao, the documentary series is filmed on location in the Golden Triangle, Thailand, Burma, China, USA, Malaysia, Philippines and Australia. Produced by IFA Media, Traffickers: Inside The Golden Triangle is directed by Robbie Bridgeman, Steve Chao and John Lam and executive produced by Dean Johnson.

TRAFFICKERS: INSIDE THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE is the third HBO Asia Original documentary after the award-winning The World Behind The Teenage Psychic and The Talwars: Behind Closed Doors, both of which are available on HBO GO.
