SPX Express (SPX) has officially opened a new sorting center in Bukit Raja Selatan, Selangor, inaugurated by Minister YB Datuk Fahmi Fadzil.

Covering over 30,000 square meters, the facility is part of SPX’s RM 63.2 million (USD 15 million) investment in Automated Sorting Machines (ASM) to enhance operational efficiency. This hub aims to strengthen Malaysia’s supply chain and support a more inclusive digital economy, benefiting both individuals and businesses. It aligns with the 13th Malaysia Plan, driving the nation towards a technology-driven future.

Cheah Lee Sun, Head of SPX, said, “The new Bukit Raja Selatan sorting centre reflects our commitment to continuous innovation in logistics operations. With our in-house technology, the new sorting centre can sort parcels to up to 200 unique destinations, strengthening the connection between businesses and shoppers and enabling more efficient deliveries across the country. This means faster, more reliable deliveries for our customers, including small businesses and everyday shoppers who rely on us for their e-commerce needs.”
Driving Innovation in Logistics
The Bukit Raja Selatan sorting centre uses artificial intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT) to speed up parcel processing. This helps small businesses deliver to their customers more quickly and provides shoppers with a faster delivery experience.
It can handle up to two million parcels every day, making sorting 2.2 times more efficient. This is expected to increase SPX’s overall processing capacity across the country by 80% and cut the time from receiving to sending parcels to under eight hours. The hub greatly improves SPX’s delivery network, supporting Malaysia’s digital economy and meeting the rising demands of people across the country.
Creating Opportunities for Communities

The Bukit Raja Selatan sorting centre will create 1,000 new jobs, with 60% of the workers getting advanced training in automation. This facility helps develop local skills in high-tech logistics, supporting Malaysia’s future competitiveness and fostering a workforce ready for the digital economy.
“Innovation in logistics is not just about technology, but also about creating opportunities for people and businesses. The new facility reflects this commitment by nurturing a skilled workforce and enabling small businesses to reach more customers nationwide. Together, we are strengthening Malaysia’s digital economy and opening more opportunities for communities across the country,” Lee Sun added.
