
After it’s global announcement, Sony Malaysia has confirmed the LinkBuds will be available in the market on 17 February 2022 for the price of RM849. The latest wireless earbuds aims to let users to stay connected and aware at all times, with the help of an open ring design with audio transparency, ultra-small super fit and crystal-clear sound and call quality. Let’s dive down further why LinkBuds is getting all the raved about in the tech and audiophile space.
According to Sony, LinkBuds have been created with a unique open ring design and allows you to be aware to your surrounding whenever you want, without compromising your listening experience. The ring driver unit has a centre of the diaphragm open for audio transparency, allowing users to clearly hear the sounds around while enjoying your audio content. This new design for LinkBuds made it suitable for working from home, gaming, listening to music, and more.

What’s more amazing for the latest Sony wireless earbuds are super small, ergonomic design. The earbuds are just weight at approximately 4 grams which makes it perfect for all-day usage. Because it is not like conventional earbuds you can find in the market, the protective surface covering the speaker diaphragm is integrated within the housing, saving space. Sony also claim the overall shape of LinkBuds are made with the of extensive ear shape data over the years of the company making headphones. The LinkBuds are IPX4 water resistance as well, making them your perfect companion for workout.

For the wireless earbuds performance, Sony is packing a lot of features here. LinkBuds allow users to make crystal clear calls with precise voice pickup technology that performs advanced voice signal processing. Sony’s noise reduction algorithm was developed using AI machine learning, using more than 500 million voice samples to suppress ambient noise and extract your voice clearly. If you’re someone who value high quality sound, DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine), Sony’s Integrated Processor V1 and 12mm ring driver is providing one of the best immersive audio experience you can get. Along with Adaptive Volume Control, it will automatically optimises volume based on where you are. LinkBuds also come with 360 Reality Audio.



Sony even take another extra step for user to control LinkBuds. With Wide Area Tap, you can just double or triple tapping in front of either of your ears, you can adjust playback to your liking as you no longer require to touch LinkBuds. The Speak-to-Chat feature will automatically pause your music as soon as you speak to someone in case your hands are full and resume play when you’re done talking. You can even activate voice assistant by just saying “OK Google” or “Alexa”.

In the connectivity department, LinkBuds has Google’s Fast Pair feature which effortlessly pair to any of your Android devices and also locate where you last left the wireless earbuds. The Swift Pair feature is also available here to pair LinkBuds to your Windows 11 or Windows 10 laptop, desktop PC or tablet. For the first time ever, you can take the earbuds out of their case and a pop-up will appear automatically. So, no matter where you are, you can easily get connected. Also, Quick access allows users to configure LinkBuds to resume Spotify playback with just a couple of taps – no need to touch your smartphone.
On the battery department, Sony is claiming LinkBuds should last 5.5 hours on a single charge and additional 12 hours in the sleek and compact case. If you’re in a hurry, just a 10 minute charge gives you up to 90 minutes of play time.
