
The 62nd Asia-Pacific Film Festival will take place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from 29 November to 6 December 2025. Acclaimed Hong Kong actor Simon Yam will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award. With over four decades in the industry and more than 200 films to his credit, Yam is known for his versatile performances in genres ranging from crime thrillers to arthouse dramas. His notable works include Election, PTU, and Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life. Additionally, he is recognized for his impact on promoting Hong Kong cinema globally, inspiring future generations of actors and filmmakers.
Simon Yam said: “I am deeply grateful to APFF for this honour — it means a great deal to me at this stage of my career, and it serves as an encouragement to continue doing what I love. I am truly happy that my work has been recognised and appreciated by audiences over the years. For me, the Lifetime Achievement Award is not an ending, but a new beginning. I look forward to taking on more challenging roles and projects in the future, and I hope to continue earning everyone’s love and support. This is a new chapter, and I’m ready for it.”

The 62nd APFF is organised by Lomo Pictures Sdn. Bhd., endorsed by the Federation of Motion Picture Producers in Asia-Pacific (FPA), and supported by the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS).
