Samsung has announced the conclusion of the 2025 Odyssey Cup Counter-Strike 2 Championship, a top esports tournament showcasing talented gamers from Southeast Asia and Oceania.
The Grand Finals were held at the EBN Esports City in Quill City Mall, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, from December 12-14. Eight finalist teams from the region competed for a total prize of US$50,000.
SemperFi Esports from Australia won the championship, beating Deep Cross Gaming from Indonesia in a tough match to take home the grand prize of US$20,000. Kristers Darznieks, a key player for SemperFi Esports, was named MVP and earned an additional US$2,000 for his outstanding performance.
Beyman Esports of Malaysia and Ground Zero Gaming from Australia won third and fourth place respectively.
The Grand Finals in Kuala Lumpur had a lively crowd, including media, influencers, and fans. It was streamed live on Samsung’s official channels for regional fans to enjoy the excitement.

“My passion for gaming began when I was 9 years old, and watching the pro scene made me realize what I wanted to do for the next 10 years—to play on stage and achieve the highest prestige in competitive esports. As a competitive gamer, there are a few features that holds crucial to me in a gaming monitor,” said James Savage, team captain of winning team SemperFi Esports. “A 180Hz refresh rate, 1ms response time and great dynamic panels with good visual contrast.”

Samsung’s Odyssey G5 G50F QHD 180Hz gaming monitors, used in the tournament, offer impressive QHD resolution, a fast 180Hz refresh rate, and a quick 1ms response time. These monitors are designed for clear visuals and better immersion, providing the accuracy and performance needed for competitive Counter-Strike 2 matches.
“It was wonderful to see the region’s gaming community come together for such an exciting showcase of talent. The atmosphere throughout the tournament was electric, with players bringing incredible energy to every match. We are delighted that our gaming monitors helped equip players to perform at their best,” said Leslie Goh, Head of Regional Display Solutions, Samsung Southeast Asia and Oceania. “It is also worthwhile to note that this year’s Odyssey Cup saw a record number of sign-ups, and we hope that we will continue to see growing enthusiasm and participation for these events.”
Back for the second year in a row as a key partner, TCP Red Bull Malaysia helped energize the crowd by providing a variety of energy drinks for players and fans, which improved the atmosphere. Logitech, TTRacing, and Newswav also joined as official partners, contributing to the Grand Finals’ great success.
Attendees had the chance to win a TTRacing Gaming Chair in a special on-site giveaway.
Looking ahead, Samsung is committed to supporting a lively gaming community through new ideas and creating experiences that appeal to both competitive gamers and casual fans.
