Samsung showcases ‘Your Companion to AI Living’ at The First Look during CES 2026

Samsung has introduced its “Companion to AI Living” vision at The First Look event during CES 2026 in the Latour Ballroom at Wynn Las Vegas. The event highlighted how AI is central to Samsung’s philosophy, shaping its product development, operations, and user experience.

TM Roh, the CEO and Head of Samsung’s Device eXperience (DX) Division, kicked off The First Look by discussing Samsung’s leadership in AI. He explained that, thanks to its large, connected ecosystem powered by AI, Samsung can offer users a genuine AI companion experience in their everyday lives. This means users can enjoy more than just basic technology and discover more meaningful moments all around them.

“Samsung is building a more unified, more personal experience across mobile, visual display, home appliances and services,” said CEO TM Roh. “With our global connected ecosystem, and by embedding AI across categories, Samsung is leading the way to offer more meaningful everyday AI experiences.”

Entertainment Companion: Extending the Experience Beyond Simple Viewing

SW Yong, President and Head of the Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics, and Sukhmani Mohta, Chief Marketing and Partnerships Officer, VD Business at Samsung Electronics America, talked about how Samsung’s displays are combining great hardware and smart technology to create the perfect entertainment partner. With twenty years of experience in the TV industry, Samsung has developed a complete line of AI TVs that change how users interact with their TVs.

The highlight of this display line is the 130-inch Micro RGB, which provides a huge improvement in size and picture quality. This model offers the widest and most detailed range of colors ever seen in Samsung TVs, and its Timeless Frame design keeps distractions to a minimum, letting the picture shine with elegance. A tiny RGB light source gives outstanding picture quality, with each tiny red, green, and blue light working independently to create the most natural colors. The Micro RGB AI Engine Pro allows for precise color control, resulting in vivid images in every scene.

To make the viewing experience even better, Vision AI Companion (VAC) uses AI technology to help users enhance their viewing, dining, and overall mood at home. With VAC, users can get suggestions on what to watch, eat, and listen to, enriching the TV experience beyond just watching.

Samsung offers smart modes to customize the viewing experience. For soccer fans, AI Soccer Mode Pro makes game days more exciting with advanced picture and sound settings that mimic stadium quality. AI Sound Controller Pro lets users adjust the volume of crowd noise, commentary, or music, making it easier to enjoy TV shows and movies. Users can simply ask their TV equipped with VAC – which includes Micro LED, Micro RGB, OLED, Neo QLED, Mini LED, and UHD TV – to carry out requests based on context.

VAC also enhances the overall lifestyle experience by helping users find recipes for meals featured on TV simply by asking. It uses up-to-date information to recommend options that fit health and fitness goals. Furthermore, VAC allows users to send recommended recipes to other devices like the new The Movingstyle, designed for easy movement around the home and kitchen appliances, creating a smooth multi-device experience.

Samsung has been a leader in the global soundbar market for 11 years straight. This year, it is launching two new WiFi speakers, the Music Studio 5 and 7, to further grow its integrated ecosystem. These speakers support a broader range of sound systems, improve audiovisual quality, and look great in any space. Both models feature a classic dot design by famous designer Erwan Bouroullec, inspired by a universal symbol in music and art while reflecting Samsung’s design style.

Samsung also introduced several new products that fit nicely with home aesthetics. The new, super-slim OLED S95H has a sleek bezel that gives it an artistic look, while Samsung’s portable projector, The Freestyle+, powered by VAC, allows users to project content on walls, ceilings, and even uneven surfaces like corners and curtains.

The 2026 TV lineup supports HDR10+ ADVANCED, which enhances brightness, optimizes for different genres, smooths motion, maps tones better, and improves gaming experiences.

As HDR10+ becomes more common among major streaming services, Samsung will be the first to introduce HDR10+ ADVANCED in its 2026 TV lineup. Samsung is also presenting Eclipsa Audio, the new spatial sound system across all 2026 TVs.

Samsung unveiled its most advanced Odyssey gaming monitor lineup yet, bringing five new models that push the limits of resolution, refresh rate, and immersive visuals. Leading the lineup is Samsung’s first 6K 3D Odyssey G9, which introduces cutting-edge display technologies for gamers and creators, including the next-generation Odyssey G6 and three new Odyssey G8 models.

At the heart of all these display innovations is the most powerful Tizen OS yet. Users will enjoy seven years of Tizen OS updates, ensuring their TVs can change and improve even after they are brought home.

Home Companion: Connected Smart Appliances That Guide You Through Your Day

Cheolgi Kim, Executive Vice President and Head of Digital Appliances at Samsung Electronics, and Elizabeth Anderson, Head of Integrated Marketing at Samsung Electronics America, shared Samsung’s vision to transform home appliances into true home companions. Notably, as of December 2025, SmartThings serves over 430 million users, giving Samsung a unique advantage.

The Family Hub, featuring AI Vision with Google Gemini, enhances food management by tracking items in the refrigerator and suggesting recipes through the “What’s for Today?” feature. It also offers Video to Recipe, turning cooking videos into step-by-step guides.

Samsung introduced FoodNote, providing weekly reports on food intake, while the Now Brief feature includes customizable widgets. In laundry, the Bespoke AI Laundry Combo eliminates the hassle of transferring laundry loads. The Bespoke AI AirDresser tackles wrinkles easily.

For cleaning, the Bespoke AI Jet Bot Steam Ultra, powered by a Qualcomm Dragonwing processor, recognizes various liquids and can monitor home activity. Additionally, a partnership with Hartford Steam Boiler aims to reduce insurance premiums for smart home users, enhancing protection and lowering costs.

Care Companion: Shifting From Reactive to Proactive Care

Finally, Praveen Raja, Vice President and Head of Digital Health at Samsung Research America, introduced Samsung’s vision for intelligent care through its integrated device ecosystem, shifting from reactive to proactive health management. With AI, devices like phones, wearables, and appliances will support users in preventing health issues.

Samsung aims to offer personalized health coaching, including exercise and sleep guidance, and tailored recipes based on connected refrigerators’ contents. It will also alert users of abnormal health patterns and facilitate communications with healthcare providers via the Xealth platform for virtual consultations.

Additionally, Samsung is enhancing dementia detection through partnerships, using wearables to monitor subtle changes in mobility, speech, and engagement.

Samsung Knox and Knox Matrix underpin this personalized ecosystem, ensuring user data security. To adapt to evolving AI risks, Samsung continually refines its security systems through red team analysis and reinforces data protection in AI training processes.

The Samsung Exhibition Zone at CES is available to the public Jan. 4-7.
