Samsung has announced that select Galaxy A series devices will soon support AI assistant activation through the side button, bringing a popular feature from the Galaxy S series to more users and enhancing Samsung’s commitment to democratizing AI experiences.
With this update, users can launch Gemini, Google’s AI-powered assistant, by simply pressing and holding the side button. Samsung introduced Awesome Intelligence on the latest Galaxy A series – Galaxy A56 5G, Galaxy A36 5G, and Galaxy A26 5G – featuring AI-powered functions that enhance Galaxy’s mobile AI experiences. The upcoming update will allow even more Galaxy A series users to complete everyday tasks more intuitively.
The Galaxy A series update enhances user experience by providing easier access to Gemini for checking schedules, finding restaurants, and getting gift recommendations via voice commands. Users can also perform tasks across apps with a single command, such as locating a dinner spot on Google Maps and sharing the address through Messages.
Faster access to Gemini makes getting help in everyday situations easy, like when you’re making quick dinner plans. With just a voice command, users can say, “Find French, pet-friendly restaurants with terrace seating nearby” to Gemini and receive suggestions in seconds. This allows you to quickly choose a place and share it with a friend without needing to type anything.
The software update will be available worldwide for some Galaxy A series models starting in early May.
