RXP.KL has recently invited guest and media for a preview session for their latest show, “Piying Dream” and “Matter of Painting”, by the world-famous, award-winning Danny Rose Studio, in collaboration with Temple of Light. In this article, I will share my opinion on the overall show with little to no spoilers.

Before I talk about the audio and visual experience, I would like to give a kudos to RXP.KL for upgrading the hall facility. Comparing it to last year, now attendees can enjoy the new wall and better audio experience. It definitely elevates the immersive audio and visual experience.

The show started with “Matter of Painting”, which showcase a myriad of colours and textures of painting materials. You can think of this title as an interactive canvas that brings a variety flow of colours as it continues to morph into different scenario. The show may start of with a darker vibe but it built the vibe impressively as it goes on. The audio production is quite good as well as makes the audience feel like they are traveling along with the show.

Next, “Piying Dream” is a digitally animated showcase of Chinese shadow puppetry. You will enter the realm of imaginative kingdom with conic characters from classic Chinese literature – including the beloved Sun Wukong (or Monkey King), the wise Zhuge Liang, and the heroic Wu Song – as well as mythical creatures, including dragons. It also showcase traditional pavilions, and flora and fauna. The show definitely shows a brighter side and will enter to a darker vibe on the later part. The Piying Dream’s audio is worth to be mentioned here as the song and noises added onto the show has complimented well.
Overall, the show is quite awesome, albeit it left me wanting more from the 2 shows. Nonetheless, highly recommended for those individual that is looking for something to spark their creativity or admire digital artistic creativity. A solid 9 out 10 stars.
The 1-hour exhibition is now open from 9th February — 6th September 2024 with tickets are priced at RM60 for adults, RM42 for youths, students, seniors and OKU, with tickets for children priced at RM30. For more information and to purchase tickets, log onto: www.rxpkl.com
