Rhythm Check: imase – Koigoromo (恋衣)

imase has recently released his winter love song “Koigoromo” (original Japanese title: 恋衣) on 5th February 2024. The song is currently on all major music streaming platform and also released a music video as well.

The song was written for a collaboration campaign with KIRIN’s tea brand Gogo-no-Kocha being inspired by the episodes of hot milk tea drunk on a cold winter day, submitted by the campaign participants. You can check out the special campaign page (but in Japanese only): https://milktea-song.gogo-tea.jp/.

The song is infused with a bit of country-style sound that features stringed instruments, providing a faint love song that gently colors this winter.

The meaning of the title “Koigoromo (恋衣)” is ‘a deep love that always stays close to your heart’ in Japanese, and the upbeat sound will make you feel warm even on a cold winter day.
