Redmi Watch 6 review: Affordable large OLED display smartwatch you should get!

Smartwatches has been evolving through the years, from a slow small display to now large OLED and long battery life! Modern smartwatch like the new Redmi Watch 6 in 2026, now packs a variety of health monitoring and other features in a great value product. So, let’s join in for the low down on living with the Redmi Watch 6.

Design – Large Square body, comfort wearing

The Redmi Watch 6’s unibody, with a high-strength aluminium alloy mid-frame, has an approximately 9.9mm thickness which generally translate it offers light, compact and durability. The back sensor is less protruding, contributing to better comfort for long period wear. The watch also supports 5ATM water resistance.

On the right side, it comes with a rotating stainless steel crown dial on top and secondary button. The crown dial don’t provide the tactile feel when rotating, but its feels smooth when navigating the watch UI layout. The secondary button feels precise with each press, which allows for single press to access control panel, press and hold to access the power off/restart menu and triple press will engage the call emergency contact. The Linear motor also offers 2 strength level of vibration, and I choose the “Strong” which deliver the best vibration feel.

The quick release resin strap feel comfortable even long period of wearing. However, the strap tucked inside and I generally don’t like it. Just a personal preference, so depending to each individual preference.

You can get it in Glacier Blue, Obsidian Black and Silver Gray.

Display – Bright, fast and large AMOLED!

The Redmi Watch 6 uses a 2.07″ AMOLED display with 2mm bezel, which give an immersive to view on it. The AMOLED display brightness peaks out at 2,000 nits, making it perfect to glance even under sunny daylight. Together with the 60Hz refresh rate, you get a smooth navigating experience on the watch.

Because it is using the AMOLED display, you also get the Always On Display feature, which makes this Redmi Watch 6 feels like a proper watch.

UI and Features

The watch is running Xiaomi HyperOS 3, which is easy to navigate with swipe, rotating crown dial and the secondary button. The large display with default face give a best overview on my daily physical goals, battery level, weather and notifications. It also has an extensive collection of diverse watch faces, where you can connect it through the Mi Fitness app on your smartphone to choose and download new watch faces.

The watch also offers cross-device ecosystem connectivity and remote camera control.

For fitness tracking, it has 150+ sports modes, upgraded Dual L1 antenna positioning, Independent GNSS for outdoor running, self-developed algorithms and advanced sensors. The watch also can do health monitoring with all-day sleep monitoring, All-day heart rate monitoring, Breathing exercises, All-day blood oxygen monitoring, All-day stress monitoring and Women’s health management.

I can’t comment on the accuracy and efficacy on the fitness tracking and health monitoring, but you should treat the watch as guide for your self improvement. Consult with a professional if you find irregularities signs.

Battery – Certified long lasting, even with most feature turned on!

Redmi Watch 6 has a 550mAh battery capacity, where the brand claimed it can last up to 24 days of battery life, under light usage. For my usage, I turned the display brightness to max, AOD turn on, notifications on my phone connected and randomly checking my heart rate with occasionally browsing my daily fitness goal, it actually lasted around a week before I require to juice it back up. Pretty impressive.

Verdict – All you need in a smartwatch, without the premium pricetag

If you’re impressed with my findings in this review article, then you will be even more surprised on its price. The Redmi Watch 6 in Malaysia is just priced at RM369, offering near identical features to some smartwatch with a premium price tag. A serious value for money smartwatch, for the young guns and for those who needs it for their variety of lifestyle. It gets a solid 8.2 out of 10 rating, perfect for those looking or upgrading their smartwatch.
