Puzzle Planet, Taylor’s and Intermark Mall hits the record book for ‘THE BIGGEST MALAYSIA JIGSAW PUZZLE MAP’

To celebrate the 65th Independence Day in Malaysia, Puzzle Planet, Taylor’s International School Kuala Lumpur and Intermark Mall has created a record-breaking achievement with ‘THE BIGGEST MALAYSIA JIGSAW PUZZLE MAP’.

Puzzle Planet contributed 48,000 blank waterproof jigsaw puzzle canvas pieces sponsored by Pintoo International to create the 15ft by 7ft Malaysia Jigsaw Puzzle Map for 23 talented Taylor’s International School students from Years 8, 9 and 10 to conceptualise, sketch and colour the puzzle pieces with illustrations of what Malaysia means to them.

Inspired by this year’s Merdeka theme, ‘Keluarga Malaysia Teguh Bersama’, the map represents Malaysia’s 13 states with hand-drawn illustrations of what each state is known for, such as, Mt Kinabalu, Rafflesia and the Proboscis monkey that are found in Sabah, and the Oriental Pied Hornbill, iconic cat monument and longhouse found in Sarawak.

Peninsular Malaysia features illustrations of local delicacies such as Ipoh chicken rice, kopitiam coffee, Cameron Highlands strawberries; handicrafts such as the wau; and iconic buildings and sites such as Kuala Terengganu Drawbridge and Fraser’s Hill Clock Tower.

The Malaysia Book of Records title presentation for the ‘BIGGEST MALAYSIA JIGSAW PUZZLE MAP’ was presented by Mr Aaron Bong, Deputy General Manager, Marketing and Events, Malaysia Book of Records, at the unveiling ceremony at Intermark Mall on 25 August. Present to receive the certificate was Prof. Dr. Jeffery Yap, Chief Operating Officer of Puzzle Planet, Ms. Kung Suan Ai, Director of Marketing, Intermark Mall and Mr. Peter Wells, principal of Taylor’s International School Kuala Lumpur.

The public are invited to view the ‘BIGGEST MALAYSIA JIGSAW PUZZLE MAP’ at Intermark Mall’s Ground Atrium until 18 September 2022.
