Proton is set to unveil the Proton S70 R3 racing car at the Malaysia Autoshow 2024, held at the Malaysia Agro Exposition Park Selangor (MAEPS). This marks Proton R3’s first all-new racing car since the Proton Saga R3 in 2019, marking the brand’s return to the S1K race since that year. The show car features the latest evolution of the aerodynamic package tailored for the racer and will be campaigned at this year’s Sepang 1,000km endurance race.
Proton has a long history in motorsports, starting with the original Proton Saga and ramping up with the inception of Proton R3 in 2003. The Proton S70 R3 is the first racing car based on a model jointly developed by Proton and Geely.
