Pos Malaysia revamped its Retail Landscape with Launch of 36th Pos Shop at Pudu

Pos Malaysia has recently officially launched the opening of its 36th Pos Shop nationwide at Pudu, marking a significant milestone in the company’s retail transformation journey. The launch, coinciding with the National Day and Malaysia Day 2024 celebrations, was officiated by YB Teo Nie Ching, Deputy Minister of Communications.

Pos Malaysia’s Group Chief Marketing, Communications & Sustainability Officer, Fiona Liao, stated, “Today marks an exhilarating leap forward in our mission to revolutionise postal services for the digital age. We are very excited about the launch of Pos Shop Pudu which epitomises our dedication to reinventing customer experiences. Since launching our first Pos Shop in Jalan Medan Tuanku last May 2023, we’ve seen an average increase of 34% in footfall at associated post offices. This success validates our innovative retail concept that seamlessly blends traditional postal services with modern convenience.”

The new Pos Shop Pudu introduces an innovative ‘Shop in Shop’ concept, representing a major shift from the traditional model. The new concept places a post office inside a Pos Shop, offering a fresh and contemporary retail experience. This evolution represents the company’s commitment to providing a one-stop solution for the local community, ingeniously combining post and parcel services with a convenient retail space for daily essentials in a comfortable shopping ambience.

Pos Shop Pudu will span over 900 square feet, offering a wide range of choices for customers, including the popular Pos Kafe, which serves freshly brewed coffee, beverages, and on-the-go food options. The shop also stocks daily essentials, personal care items, and household products, truly embodying a one-stop solution for the local community.

Customers can also conveniently reload their mobile services and make bill payments at the Pos Shop. To celebrate the opening, customers can enjoy an exclusive Buy-1-Free-1 promotion for Pos Sundaes, while stocks last. Additionally, as part of the September #SapotLokal promotion, a 16% discount on selected made-in-Malaysia products is available until 30 September.

The Pos Shop initiative is a key component of Pos Malaysia’s broader transformation plan. Liao elaborated, “With the launch of our 36th Pos Shop, we are thrilled to continually innovate our space and refine our product offerings to align with market demands, while providing a comprehensive one-stop solution for both postal and convenience needs. By optimising our existing assets, we are not only enhancing the overall customer experience at our retail outlets but also driving economic growth through strategic partnerships with local SMEs.”

By providing local SMEs with opportunities to showcase and sell their products through consignment or direct listing, Pos Malaysia is actively driving economic growth and meeting community needs. “This approach not only fosters economic development but also supports our communities’ needs, creating a win-win situation for Pos Malaysia, local businesses, and our customers,” Liao added.

YB Teo Nie Ching lauded Pos Malaysia’s initiative: “By modernising its retail presence and supporting local small and medium-size industries, Pos Malaysia is not only enhancing the customer experience and meeting the community’s needs but also making significant contributions to our country’s economic growth and community development.”

The company is said to be planning to accelerate its expansion, aiming to establish 14 additional Pos Shop outlets across key states by the end of 2024, bringing the total to 50 nationwide. This aggressive growth strategy underscores the company’s commitment to enhancing accessibility and convenience for communities throughout Malaysia.

In celebration of Bulan Kebangsaan, YB Teo Nie Ching distributed Malaysian flags to customers at the event, highlighting Pos Malaysia’s role in fostering national unity. The company will also launch a special edition “Hari Malaysia” stamp collection, available at all 90 Philatelic Bureaus nationwide, including 13 General Post Offices from 16 September, further strengthening the connection between its services and national heritage.
