OnePlus 10T’s camera uses new Image Clarity Engine software; rear triple camera setup includes macro camera

More details on the upcoming OnePlus 10T’s camera were announced recently as Kinder Liu, the Head of R&D Department of OnePlus introduced about it.

Firstly, the device will be have a triple rear camera setup that feature a 50 MP Sony IMX766 sensor main camera, an ultrawide camera (119.9° FOV) and a macro camera. The inclusion of a macro camera on the OnePlus 10T is quite confusing but we shall wait for the official launch to know more why they decide to add a macro camera.

The main camera is reported to be using a 1/1.56 inch sensor size, combined with OIS and EIS support to deliver clear shots with rich detail, even in low light and unevenly lit environments. Photos from the main camera is also capable of capturing photos in full 10-bit colour, 64 times more colour than smartphones that shoot in 8-bit colour.

It is also reported that OnePlus 10T will be using the new Image Clarity Engine (ICE) software with an upgraded algorithm that enables the device to capture photos faster and with greater levels of detail. By pressing the OnePlus 10T 5G’s camera shutter, tens of photos will be captured immediately, and the best photo will filtered out as the final image. With the improved ICE, this process happens even faster than on previous OnePlus devices, meaning users can capture more moments without them passing by.

HDR performance is also greatly improved for OnePlus 10T thanks to OnePlus’ HDR 5.0 and TurboRAW algorithms. OnePlus 10T will also include Nightscape feature as well.
