Recently, New Balance has launched their latest footwear and apparel in Malaysia at SneakerLAH, which happened from 3 to 4 September 2022 at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (MVEC). The New Balance booth (Hall 2 – A6) offers Malaysians the chance to purchase must-have drops including the 9060, 1906R, 2002R and 574+, among other iconic footwear and apparel.
At the SneakerLAH event, the New Balance brand unveiled its latest collaboration with thisisneverthat. As part of the fifth capsule 2022 Fall/Winter collection offering a diverse range of wear, shoes and sports gear, New Balance launched a variety of sneakers including the 2002R, 1906R and apparel pieces inspired by ‘90s morning jogs.
New Balance also debuted its new 1906R silhouette in Malaysia, a reimagined interpretation of the pinnacle 1906 tech shoe, steeped in millennial running aesthetics of the 2000s. The new 1906R is a stylish throwback to the original, which combines modern tech with everyday utilitarian style. The first release comes in unisex sizing and brings back the original 1906 colourway (M1906RA) and a supporting colourway inspired by the original 2002 (M1906RB).
Visitors to the New Balance booth at SneakerLAH also got the chance to see up close and in the flesh, the new 2002R sneaker, which revisits popular running shoe styles of the 2000s, paired with a leather upper to complete its retro-modern aesthetic. The shoe also incorporates Stability Web and N-ergy technology for improved arch support and comfort. Selected models of this highly coveted item are available for sale at the New Balance booth.
Purchases at the New Balance booth were also entitled to an opportunity to win some truly exciting prizes which include exclusive New Balance merchandises, as well as the Sneaker Freaker x New Balance 574 book produced in collaboration with Sneaker Freaker. The luxuriously-designed 160-page hardcover book – indeed a collector’s item in itself – celebrates the classic 574 and 574 Core model (featured on the cover), which adds a sustainability focus to the burgeoning franchise.
