Motul teams up with McLaren Endurance Racing for FIA World Endurance Championship 2027

Motul has announced its role as the official lubricants partner of McLaren Endurance Racing, building on its partnership with McLaren’s Formula 1 team from last year.

Motul will provide advanced lubricants for the engine, transmission, and differential of the McLaren United Autosports WEC Hypercar Team, along with technical collaboration as they prepare for the FIA World Endurance Championship debut in 2027.

James Barclay, Team Principal, McLaren Endurance Racing said “Today marks an important milestone for McLaren Endurance Racing as we look ahead and continue to build on the great preparations and support for the McLaren United AS Team’s Hypercar debut in 2027. Welcoming Motul to this exciting project strengthens our team for the challenge ahead. Motul brings invaluable expertise across performance, technology and innovation. In a sport where every aspect matters we’re proud to have Motul alongside us as we continue building momentum towards our return to endurance racing.”

Julien Plet, Head of R&D, Motul said “Endurance racing is about sustaining performance over time, hour after hour, under constant mechanical stress. Working closely with McLaren Endurance Racing is a particularly exciting collaboration, allowing us to co-create bespoke fluid solutions focused on consistency, durability and reliability, qualities that truly define performance in endurance competition.”

Long-standing partner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans since the 1950s, Motul plays a crucial role in endurance racing. This partnership was solidified in 2016 when Motul became the official lubricants partner of the FIA World Endurance Championship and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

With decades of racing experience, Motul specializes in developing custom fluid solutions that deliver reliability and performance in extreme conditions. Additionally, Motul’s expertise extends beyond the racetrack, impacting other long-distance events like the Dakar Rally, and now directly supports McLaren Endurance Racing by co-creating bespoke lubricants for the Hypercar programme.
