‘Michelin Asia Cup Powered by Gran Turismo’ invites Malaysian gamers to compete for prizes worth over RM18,000 in total

MICHELIN is inviting local e-racing gamers to compete for the opportunity to represent Malaysia at the ‘Michelin Asia Cup Powered by Gran Turismo’. The return of the annual e-racing event will see gamers competing for the Cup with participants from Thailand, Indonesia, and Australia.

To make the competition more interesting, the Grand Prize being offered is an all-expense paid trip to enjoy a once-in-a-lifetime experience, exploring MICHELIN’s world of passion for motorsports and mobility at the Michelin Passion Experience (MPE) event, held this year at the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Meanwhile the First Runner-Up will win a full set of tyres; while the Second Runner-Up will receive a fuel card worth more than RM 1,500.

Registration for qualifying rounds runs from now until 8th July 2022. The first 500 registered participants in Malaysia will each receive exclusive MICHELIN merchandise.

Michelin Asia Cup Powered by Gran Turismo is an e-racing competition that will use the ‘Gran Turismo’ platform on PlayStation 4 in Sport mode. Registered participants are required to submit their best time to the Qualifying Round from 11th to 15th July 2022. The top six participants with the fastest lap time will be announced on 20th July 2022 to represent Malaysia in the Semi-Finals, racing with the top six from three other participating countries.

A total of 24 semi-finalists (six gamers each from four countries: Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Australia) will be divided in two groups, each consisting of 12 gamers. The six fastest gamers of each group will advance to the Final Round, which will be broadcasted live on 26th August 2022 from 8pm (Malaysia) onwards, via Michelin Malaysia’s official Facebook account and social media channels. The top three winners will be officially announced on 30th August 2022.
