MG Motor Malaysia has launched its new MGS5 EV, a B-segment electric SUV available in two variants and two battery capacities. Prices start at RM115,900 for the 49kWh MGS5 EV COM, RM125,900 for the 62kWh MGS5 EV COM Long Range, and RM135,900 for the 62kWh MGS5 EV LUX Long Range.
To celebrate its launch and MG’s 1st anniversary in Malaysia, the company offers RM6,000 savings for the first 500 buyers, lowering the starting price to RM109,900. Additionally, each buyer will receive a complimentary 7kW Wallbox AC charger for home charging.

MGS5 EV Variants and Performance
The MGS5 EV is available in two variants: COM and LUX. The COM variant features a choice of 49kWh or 62kWh batteries providing WLTP ranges of up to 340km and 430km. The LUX variant comes standard with the 62kWh battery and also offers 430km of range. All variants deliver 170PS and 250Nm of torque with Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and include 7kW AC charging capabilities.
The LUX variant includes DC fast charging (up to 150kW) for a 10 to 80 percent charge in 26 minutes, along with premium features like 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, and leather-fabric seats.
Standard features across the MGS5 EV include LED headlamps with ‘Racing Flag’ DRLs, MG’s signature Arch Taillights, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, and a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen. The car maximizes cabin space with an ultra-thin battery layout and has a generous boot space of up to 1,441 litres. Its advanced pressure control system enhances battery safety and longevity.
Test Drive the MGS5 EV and More at MG’s Mid Valley Megamall Roadshow
Customers and fans can experience the all-new MGS5 EV at the MG Motor Malaysia “Dare to Love” Roadshow at Mid Valley Megamall from 20 to 25 May 2025. This is the second chance for the public to test drive the MGS5 EV after its debut at Malaysia Autoshow 2025.
The MGS5 EV is priced from RM109,900 for the 49kWh model to RM129,900 for the 62kWh LUX Long Range, including an RM6,000 launch saving. MG will also showcase the MG5, MG4, MG HS, and the MG Cyberster, the first all-electric soft-top roadster. Test drives are available for these models.
Bookings for the MG Cyberster will include a one-year unlimited charging package, a complimentary 7kW Wallbox AC Charger, and a limited-edition diecast model. Additionally, visitors can claim a RM5,000 rebate on the MG5 and MG HS or flexible ownership plans for the MG4 with monthly instalments from RM974.
