M+Global by Malacca Securities has launched its first stockbroking concept store at KL Eco City, marking Malaysia’s first retail stock trading experience. The store aims to help Malaysians, especially youth aged 25 to 45, enhance their financial knowledge in a premium setting.
The launch featured representatives from Bursa Malaysia, MDEC, and a tele-presentation by badminton star Toh Ee Wei. The interactive hub offers a product experience zone, investment learning area, merchandise retail, private consultations, and a fun ‘Snap It’ photo zone for those eager to boost their financial literacy.
“The Concept Store cements M+Global’s brand promise of “Less Guessing, More Guiding” to help Malaysians move beyond just saving to actively growing their wealth through sound investment knowledge,” said Ms. Lim Chia Wei, Managing Director, M+Global at the opening ceremony. “The store’s focus on education aims to help move Malaysians beyond just saving to actively growing their wealth through a combination of expert advice, basic knowledge and sound investment strategies. In addition to our own stable of over 200 in-house licensed investment experts, the M+Global Concept Store will be playing host to an exciting line-up of sharing sessions, talks and seminars with other investment professionals, to provide a rounded and complete picture of financial knowledge.”
Financial Knowledge is Wealth
According to Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), financial literacy in Malaysia is getting better. The Malaysia Financial Literacy and Capability (MyFLIC) Index has increased from 57.1 in 2018 to 59.1 in 2024. However, there are still important issues, especially with how people manage their money and cope with financial challenges.
Surveys like the Financial Capability and Inclusion (FCI) Demand Side Survey show that many Malaysians are still at risk of financial difficulties. The 2024 survey revealed that 61% of Malaysians find it hard to get RM1,000 in an emergency. Even though many say they save money regularly, they usually only save for short-term needs and often take out their savings for daily expenses.
Moreover, poor money management is a problem. A lot of Malaysians, especially young people, feel stressed by debt from student loans and personal credit. The same survey indicated that 26% of Malaysians believe they have too much debt.
Giving Digital Finance a Human Touch
By leveraging over 60 years of experience in financial services through Malacca Securities Sdn. Bhd., the M+Global Concept Store offers visitors private consultations tailored to their investing needs with over 200 licensed experts. This service emphasizes support for individual goals and challenges, highlighting M+Global’s dedication to transforming investing into a journey of guidance and personal growth.
Visitors can also utilize the Investment Learning Hub, featuring free workshops and seminars that cover everything from investment basics to advanced strategies. The space hosts engaging talk shows and interactive sessions with industry experts.
Starting in October, BBK Network will simplify complex money topics for younger Malaysians, followed by Financial Faiz in November, who shares practical strategies for wealth building. In January, a special mystery guest will be announced.
The Concept Store fosters a community eager to make finance approachable, offering guidance from seasoned experts and lively discussions that demystify money matters.
M+Global to play doubles with its first Brand Ambassador, Malaysian badminton rising star, Toh Ee Wei
In conjunction with the launch of the concept store, M+Global introduced its brand ambassador Toh Ee Wei, a prominent Malaysian badminton player. Following her success as one half of Malaysia’s first mixed doubles gold medallist at the 2025 World Championships in Paris, Toh Ee Wei will inspire young Malaysians to manage their financial matters in today’s unpredictable world.
“M+Global is very excited to partner up with Ms Toh in guiding Malaysians with sound financial knowledge. With her compelling background of reaching the pinnacle of success in her field in the face of much personal adversity, Ms Toh’s role as brand ambassador follows in the footsteps of her father Mr. Toh who has served M+Global for over 20 years,” said Ms. Lim Chia Wei, on appointing Ms Toh to the role. “We’re proud to see their family legacy continue to grow with M+Global and look forward to working closely with her to bring our mission of self-empowerment through financial knowledge to Malaysians. Additionally, we will look to Ms Toh to promote financial literacy and financial planning amongst our national athletes.”
