Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) led the nation’s participation at Expand North Star (ENS) and GITEX Dubai 2025, positioning Malaysia as an innovation hub. These platforms showcased cutting-edge solutions and fostered engagement with key regional players across emerging sectors like fintech, AI, and digital services.
Strong ties between Malaysia and the UAE created opportunities for Malaysian companies to access a dynamic digital economy. MDEC facilitated these engagements, aiding businesses in exploring new markets and strengthening their capacities, which contributes to the development of digital ecosystems in the MENA region.
Fifteen Malaysian tech companies participated, with eight in the official delegation, generating over RM500 million in digital export opportunities and RM700 million in potential investments. This underscores the impact of Malaysia’s coordinated approach, driven by government support and entrepreneurial innovation.
MDEC continues to promote Malaysia as the ASEAN Digital Hub, advocating for innovation and sustainable growth. Participation in ENS and GITEX reinforced the country’s digital transformation commitment, demonstrating how Malaysian companies can leverage international platforms for accelerated development.
“MDEC’s participation at ENS and GITEX 2025 reflects our dedication to advancing Malaysia’s digital economy. These engagements highlight the strength of our technology ecosystem, with MD companies recording RM44.6 billion in approved investments as of August 2025, reflecting the strong confidence our investors and partners have in Malaysia’s capabilities. Our focus remains on creating a sustainable ecosystem that nurtures talent, empowers businesses, and ensures Malaysia continues to develop as a leading force in the technology landscape,” said Anuar Fariz Fadzil, Chief Executive Officer of MDEC.
At the event, three Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) were exchanged between Malaysian technology firms and their international partners. The collaborations involved Axai Digital Sdn Bhd with E3 Middle East Entrepreneur Network LLC FZ, Ultrack Technology Sdn Bhd with iOmniscient Pty Ltd, and Vulsan X Cydef Sdn Bhd with Secumailer, aiming to establish strategic partnerships that drive innovation and market expansion in technology solutions.
These agreements highlight Malaysia’s growing global reputation as a digital innovation partner. Participation in ENS and GITEX 2025 reaffirms Malaysia’s commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the growth of start-ups and established companies in the digital economy.
