McDonald’s Malaysia starts 2026 with the return of the Iconic Golden Prosperity Burger

McDonald’s Malaysia started 2026 with the launch of the Golden Prosperity Burger in Bukit Bintang, continuing the Prosperity campaign that began in November. The event at KL Tower reminded people that true prosperity is about our relationships, not material wealth. Many gathered in Bukit Bintang to create new memories around this meaningful tradition.

For years, McDonald’s has been part of important moments in Malaysians’ lives. This year’s Prosperity campaign kicked off at KL Tower with a special launch and a nationwide effort supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). It then led into a citywide New Year’s Eve countdown where the Golden Prosperity Burger was the highlight.

The launch of the Golden Prosperity Burger encourages Malaysians to come together and celebrate ‘prosperity’ as a community in the New Year.

“Prosperity isn’t about what we have; it’s who we have,” said Melati Abdul Hai, Senior Vice President and Chief Impact Officer of McDonald’s Malaysia. “In November, we invited Malaysians to share meaningful moments and give back together, and tonight in Bukit Bintang, we’re continuing that journey into the New Year with the Golden Prosperity Burger, a celebration of togetherness, warmth and community.”

“Seeing families and friends reunite across both phases of the campaign, from KL Tower to Bukit Bintang, reminds us that true prosperity grows when we share it. We look forward to creating even more feel‑good moments across Malaysia in 2026,” added Melati.

From 12:00 am to 2:00 am on 1 January, customers enjoyed a 50% discount on the Golden Prosperity Burger (ala carte) through the McDonald’s App. This special offer was meant to celebrate the new year with loved ones.

To make the night even more exciting, McDonald’s launched the ‘Makan Emas, Menang Emas’ contest. This contest gives customers a chance to win a Proton e.Mas and 10 units of 10-gram 999.9 gold Prosperity Burgers, spreading the spirit of prosperity throughout the year.

To celebrate beyond Kuala Lumpur, the golden truck will travel across the country from 1 to 9 January, visiting 18 McDonald’s restaurants in nine states. This gives more Malaysians the chance to capture and share special golden moments on social media with the hashtag #MekdiEmas.

As Malaysia moves into 2026, McDonald’s invites everyone to keep the Prosperity journey going by sharing moments of giving and togetherness, making feel-good memories with every bite of the Golden Prosperity Burger.
