Masdo completes performance tour at Indonesia, Mongolia and South Korea

Warner Music Malaysia’s recording artists band Masdo have just finished passing through several provinces in Indonesia in the ‘Perih Jerih Indonesia Promo Tour‘ tour series in Bandung, Jakarta, Yogyakarta and Bali. Masdo then flew to Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia from July 3rd to 5th, 2024 to make the Playtime Festival a success, and immediately after that they went to Busan, South Korea to perform at the Round Festival (ASEAN Korea Music Festival) from July 6th to 10th, 2024.

Masdo consisting of Ali Sariah (vocalist), Putu Ceri (bass) and Asmawi (guitarist) said they were grateful and excited.

According to Ali Sariah (vocalist), “We are very excited about the ‘Masdo Perih Jerih Indonesia Promo Tour’ this time because in addition to the promo on the radio, we can also perform ‘intimately’ with fans in Indonesia, as well as have the opportunity to go to big cities such as Bandung, Jakarta, Jogja and Bali”.

“Among the moments that impressed us was when we performed at the JRNY Coffee & Records Café in Jogja because even though it was the first time there, the energy of the ‘vibe’ of the fans presents that night had a very positive effect and left a deep impression, because some were present seven hours away from Jogja City”.

“We are confident that with this approach, it is not impossible for Masdo to gain a bigger place in the Indonesian market, and many thanks to Warner Music Malaysia and Indonesia, Enrich and Klook for helping and facilitating our journey there,” said Ali Sariah (vocalist).

Immediately after finishing the promotional tour series in Indonesia, Masdo had to prepare to perform in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia and also Busan, South Korea.

Putu Ceri (bass) added, “We are very grateful that the single Perih Jerih is well received even though it sounds different from other singles we have produced, the average listener likes the maturity in each of Masdo’s works.”

“Even though it’s tiring, it doesn’t discourage us in the least to prepare in Mongolia and South Korea, we’re more focused on making an impact in the performance and looking for differences by making references from the performances of internationally famous artists, seeing how they manage a big stage”.

“While at the Playtime Festival (Mongolia), despite the different languages, the audience still enjoyed and they chanted ‘ehhh, ahhh’ en masse, while the opportunity to perform at the Round Festival (South Korea) was an honor for us because in line with the big names in the international arena. For the Round Festival, we got an exclusive invitation from the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) and Masdo represented Malaysia among the 11 ASEAN countries that were also invited”, said Putu Ceri (bass)”.

Masdo’s participation in both festivals received the attention of the Yang Berhormat Puan. Teo Nie Ching, Deputy Minister of Communications, said, “Masdo has successfully brought Malaysia’s name to the international ‘platform’ in South Korea, and their unique style focuses on our country’s artistic workforce. Keep making the country proud, well done!”.

Upon Masdo’s return to the homeland, they are already planning several projects for 2025, including a full album in conjunction with their 10th anniversary, which will be followed by a series of tours throughout Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia.

“We hope that with the participation of these international festivals we can pave the way in proving that Malaysian music is also on par with other countries, and further gain a lot more knowledge because our mission is to find advantages and try to cover the shortcomings in every musical journey Masdo”, Asmawi (guitarist) concluded.
