iQIYI recently hosted iQIYI VIP Asia Tour featuring uprising China actor, Luo Zheng (罗正) , who met and greeted his fans at Sunway Velocity Mall. The event marked Luo Zheng’s first appearance in Malaysia, drawing a crowd of over 500 fans at the press conference and another 260 at a closed door fan meeting.
Luo Zheng, known for his romantic dramas including You From the Future (来自未来的你), Skip a Beat (心跳), Perfect Mismatch (骑着鱼的猫), Oh My Lord (惹不起的千岁大人), Nothing But You (眼里余光都是你), Make My Heart Smile (扑通扑通喜欢你), and more, have topped charts in Asian markets like Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, and the US. In 2022, he was named iQIYI International VIP ambassador due to his global appeal and strong fan following across both Chinese and non-Chinese speaking audiences.
Luo Zheng shared his journey in Malaysia thus far during at the press conference and was excited when mentioning about trying out local delicacies like Nasi Lemak, Curry Mee, Satay, and various types of kuih.
He also added that the crew even brought him to a local ‘mamak’ spot for some local mamak food. But he doesn’t stop at food to experience the Malaysia culture as he even dressed up in a traditional Malay baju melayu groom’s outfit.
Apart from experiencing the local culture, Luo Zheng also hang out with Fasha Sandha as he confirmed a collaboration with the Malaysian actress that’s coming soon.
At a closed door fan meet and greet kicked off with some heart throbbing mini games. Fans got to look into Mr. Bossy CEO Luo Zheng’s eyes without cracking a smile, all for a chance to win a special iQIYI VIP pass and a selfie with him. Well Luo Zheng turned on his charm and threw funny pickup lines. The one that left the biggest impression is this amazing one-liner, “If I’m Roti, then you’re Telur, because without you, I’m Kosong,” which had the whole crowd cheering and laughing together with good vibes!
Luo Zheng revealed that he sings the OSTs of all the dramas he acted in and ended the fan meet on a touching note by sing-along of the theme song from his latest drama, You from the Future. This sing-along wasn’t just about the song – it also showcased the special bond between Luo Zheng and his fans. The atmosphere was full of emotions, with passion and a mutual love for each other.
The fan meet didn’t end there. Luo Zheng further surprised fans by changing into a frog outfit that is very popular China at the moment and danced to “Queencard”, a song trending on TikTok. The surprise didn’t end there as Luo Zheng also danced to the theme song “Ei Ei (Pick Me)” from his time in the variety show Idol Producer.
