LG showcasing world’s first bendable 5K2K gaming monitor at CES 2025; winner of three CES 2025 Innovation Awards

LG UltraGear OLED Bendable Gaming Monitor (model 45GX990A)

LG Electronics (LG) is going to unveil the LG UltraGear GX9 series at CES 2025 this January 2025. The new lineup includes the 45GX990A – winner of three CES 2025 Innovation Awards, including the prestigious ‘Best of Innovation’ – and an all-in-one smart gaming monitor powered by LG webOS.

The UltraGear GX9 series features curved display panels with LG’s WOLED technology, providing high brightness, true blacks, and vibrant colors for an immersive gaming experience. Certified for low blue light emissions, it reduces eye strain, while the Anti-Glare & Low Reflection (AGLR) coating minimizes screen reflections, ensuring visibility even in bright environments.

The 45GX990A and 45GX950A are 45-inch, 21:9 gaming monitors with ultra-high 5K2K resolution (5,120 x 2,160) – a first for OLED displays. Their aspect ratio enhances the gaming experience compared to standard 16:9 monitors, while offering better compatibility than 32:9 models. With ample screen space, these monitors suit both gaming and diverse uses.

Both products have LG’s second-generation Dual-Mode, allowing customizable aspect ratios (21:9 or 16:9) and picture sizes (39-, 34-, or 27-inches), with easy switching between screen-resolution and refresh-rate presets. Users can personalize their gaming setups across eight configurations for different genres like FPS, RPG, MOBA, and racing simulators.

The World’s First Bendable 5K2K Gaming Monitor with Dual-Mode

The LG UltraGear OLED Bendable Gaming Monitor (model 45GX990A) is the world’s first 5K2K-resolution bendable OLED display. This 45-inch monitor transitions from flat to a 900R curvature in seconds, giving users flexibility and control over their gaming experience. Its Dual-Mode feature allows easy switching between resolution and refresh rate presets, while offering aspect ratio and picture size customization. With a 0.03ms (GtG) response time, the 45GX990A ensures smooth gameplay and immersion.

The World’s First 45-Inch 5K2K OLED Gaming Monitor with 800R Curvature and DisplayPort 2.1

The LG UltraGear OLED Gaming Monitor (model 45GX950A) from the new GX9 lineup features a 21:9, 5K2K-resolution, 45-inch self-lit curved panel that offers sharp images, vibrant colors, and excellent contrast. Its 4-side Virtually Borderless design enhances immersion and adds aesthetic appeal. With 125 PPI and an RGWB subpixel layout, it improves text readability for gaming and productivity tasks.

The 45GX950A, like its flexible sibling, has Dual-Mode functionality with eight customizable settings and supports DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C with 90W power delivery. This ensures it works well with the latest graphics cards and allows for convenient device charging. Certified by NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, the monitor reduces screen tearing for a smoother gaming experience.

Versatile Smart Gaming Monitor for Seamless Streaming and Immersive Gaming

The new LG UltraGear 39GX90SA is built for great gaming and streaming. Running on webOS, it acts as a home entertainment center, letting users access their favorite streaming services without a PC or box. Its 39-inch, 21:9 curved OLED display shows vibrant colors and deep blacks, ideal for games and HDR movies. With USB Type-C ports, it ensures easy connections and features an L-shaped stand for a tidy desk setup.

“The UltraGear GX9 series sets a new standard for OLED gaming monitors, combining groundbreaking display technology with smart features that expand and enhance the user experience,” said YS Lee, vice president and head of the IT Business Unit, LG Media Entertainment Solution Company. “From the world’s first 5K2K OLED gaming monitors with second-generation Dual-Mode to smart gaming monitors with built-in webOS, the GX9 lineup pushes the boundaries to deliver maximum value and enjoyment for our customers.”
