Recently, I was given the opportunity to review the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 10, and I’m pretty much impressed with it. It definitely showcase how 2-in-1 laptops has evolved in every aspect, from design to performance to run AI accelerated software, the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 10 just makes an outstanding impression.
So, let’s dive deeper on the laptop.
Design

Firstly, the addition of the vegan leather on the top lid just adds character for not only aesthetic but feel as well. Mixed with the aluminum body, you get a premium built laptop. The brand claims the weight starts from 1.38 kg, it’s practically compact and light to carry anywhere and everywhere.
There is also air intake on the bottom and exhaust vent at the end on the laptop, which most likely inspired from its Legion gaming division, helps a lot for long period usage.

I also love the ports offering on the laptop, which includes:
1x USB-A (USB 5Gbps / USB 3.2 Gen 1), Always On
2x USB-C (Thunderbolt 4 / USB4 40Gbps), with USB PD 3.0 and DisplayPort 2.1
1x HDMI 1.4b
1x Headphone / microphone combo jack (3.5mm)
1x microSD card reader
The ports selection offers great balance of easy access for every users, such as me who are still using a USB-A mouse and I have a port to use it. For content creator, you still have microSD card reader to transfer your data and those who loves wired headphone/headset can connect via the 3.5mm jack.

Being a 2-in-1 laptop, it actually offers three style of usage, the traditional laptop, tent or tablet style. On the traditional laptop, the keyboard layout is good and feels great for typing with big cap, albeit it doesn’t have numpad. For the tent or tablet style, you can use the stylus to maximize your productivity.

One more thing, the keyboard is litback, making it excellent when you need to work in dark environment.
Performance

The Lenovo Yoga – 7i 2-in-1 Gen 10 is powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra Processor, particularly for my review unit, its the Intel Core Ultra 5 226V Processor. It has Integrated Intel Arc Graphics 130V and paired with 16 GB LPDDR5X-8533MT/s (Memory on Package) and 1 TB SSD M.2 2242 PCIe Gen4 TLC.

While I’m not going to give you the benchmark numbers, the Intel Core Ultra 5 226V Processor is quite powerful, especially for AI programs. The Intel chipset has allowed me to run AI program like Co-Pilot, offering instant summary on news article and chat as well. The performance with instant results, allows any users to multitask quicker and reducing long working hours, thanks to the efficient of the latest Intel Core Ultra Processors.

Not only that, if you’re into gaming, the Yoga 7i 2-in-1 is able to run Fortnite with stable framerates for long gaming session. I ran the settings with Performance for rendering mode and 60 fps, it is capable of maintaining the gaming experience for more than 30 minutes. I am really impressed with the performance from the latest Intel Core Ultra Processor and Lenovo’s marvel cooling solution. The cooling solution also helps a lot when your gaming or productivity is quite demanding or when you require to use the laptop for long period.
Display and audio

The display on the laptop is a 14” touchscreen with 3 options to choose from:
- 14” WUXGA (1920 x 1200), Multi-Touch, IPS, 300 nits, 16:10, 45% NTSC, 60 Hz, Dolby Vision, TUV Low Blue Light (software)
- 14” WUXGA (1920 x 1200), Multi-Touch, OLED, 400 nits, 16:10, 100% DCI-P3, 60 Hz, Dolby Vision, DisplayHDR True Black 500, TUV Low Blue Light (Hardware)
- 14” 2.8K (2880 x 1800), Multi-Touch, OLED, 1100 nits (HDR Peak), 500 nits (SDR Typical), 16:10, 100% DCI-P3, 120Hz, Dolby Vision, DisplayHDR True Black 1000, TUV Low Blue Light (Hardware)

Whichever you choose, having the Multi-Touch feature helps a lot for users who are adapted to smartphone habits and also using stylus. For the audio, you get 2 side upward speakers which has 2W x2 (woofers) and 2W x2 (tweeters), optimized with Dolby Atmos and Smart Amplifier (AMP). They sounded good for every use, but I felt it could be a little bit more louder.
Battery

The laptop packs a 70Wh with Rapid Charge Express, where Lenovo claimed that with 3 hours battery life in 15 minutes charge. Battery life is quite great as I maxed the display brightness, turn on WiFi, searching on Microsoft Edge, playing some videos on YouTube and using Co-Pilot for summary and chats for around more than an hour, it still left 84% (remaining 9h 8 min) battery level. With that said, it is safe to say that: Lenovo and Intel push the boundaries of your creativity. Leave the charger behind with long-lasting battery with more than 100 AI experience at your fingertips.
Final Verdict
Now, if you head to Lenovo Malaysia website, the price of the Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 10 will starts from RM4,156.10 (at the time of writing, it may or may not comes with different pricing), I said its priced quite adequate as there is quite a lot of pros than cons on the laptop. However, if you’re looking to use it for intensive gaming or heavy rendering videos, than I wouldn’t recommend this but it gets my nod for productivity, entertainment, creative work, light gaming and video rendering.
My recommendation for this laptop: suited for university/college students, those looking for a laptop that can does it all while remaining light and compact, and with RM4,000 and more budget. I also confidently say you should put this laptop in your buying list.
As for ratings, I would give this Lenovo Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 10 with Intel Core Ultra 5 226V Processor a solid 8 out of 10. It has a lot of positives than negative, unless if you’re someone who required more performance then this might not be ideal. However, when you just need a laptop that able to does all, while able to run AI features, the Yoga 7i 2-in-1 Gen 10 is the perfect choice.
