Lenovo Malaysia has launched their latest ThinkStation P8 workstation, a powerful tower designed to empower Malaysian businesses and professionals to tap into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence (AI). The ThinkStation P8 builds on the success of the award-winning P620, the world’s first workstation powered by AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series processors. This launch marks a significant step forward in terms of raw performance and democratizing access to cutting-edge AI hardware.

Featuring an optimized thermal design in a versatile Aston Martin-inspired chassis, the ThinkStation P8 combines Lenovo’s legendary reliability, customer experience, and innovation with breakthrough compute architecture courtesy of AMD and NVIDIA. The ThinkStation P8 raises the bar for intense workloads across multiple segments focused on outcome-based workflow agility.

The ThinkStation P8 goes beyond being a powerful workstation; it is a strategic investment for businesses serious about AI adoption. Professionals in fields such as architecture, engineering, media and entertainment, healthcare, education, and research know that a powerful and reliable workstation is critical to business success and AI adoption.

Powered by the latest AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series processors built on the leading 5nm “Zen 4” architecture and featuring up to 96 cores and 192 threads, the ThinkStation P8 thrives in high intensity environments such as building information modelling (BIM) workflows, software development projects, or product lifecycle management. The new sleek and sturdy rack-optimized chassis offers larger Platinum rated power supply options to handle more demanding expansion capabilities. ThinkStation P8 also can support up to three (3) NVIDIA RTX 6000 Ada Generation GPUs to help reduce time to completion in graphics-intensive applications like real-time ray tracing or video rendering, simulation or computer aided design. The combined power also opens up new realms of immersive environments including digital worlds, AR/VR content creation, and advanced AI model development.

The ThinkStation P8 is a powerful hardware that can handle demanding AI workloads, addressing the need for a strong foundation for robust AI adoption. The Malaysian government’s “AI For Rakyat” initiative focuses on software and skills development, fostering an environment conducive to AI growth. The ThinkStation P8 addresses this vision by providing access to powerful hardware that can handle demanding AI workloads. As datasets grow in size and complexity, AI professionals must balance workflow agility, time to insight, and expense efficiencies of cloud solutions. Security and data governance concerns also drive the need for more powerful compute in the hands of high-value AI-focused employees. Lenovo workstations excel at tasks such as AI data preparation, cleansing, visualization, model selection, scoring, training, and fine-tuning. Large language models (LLMs) require powerful NVIDIA GPUs for training and tuning on owned data in the enterprise. The latest CPUs and AI-optimized NVIDIA GPUs feature throughout Lenovo’s ThinkStation and ThinkPad workstation portfolio, and NVIDIA AI Enterprise, an end-to-end software platform for production AI, allows organizations to work on their own data in a secure sandbox personal supercomputing environment.

The P8 workstation can accommodate up to seven (7) M.2 PCIe Gen 4 SSDs with RAID support, or up to three (3) HDDs for large capacity storage3, up to 2TB4 of DDR5 memory with octa-channel support and seven (7) PCIe slots including six (6) PCI Gen5 that deliver higher speed connectivity, lower latency and more expansion capability, and includes 10 Gigabit Ethernet onboard to virtually eliminate network bottlenecks.

The ThinkStation P8 workstation includes AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 WX-Series processors and NVIDIA RTX Ada Generation GPUs, ISV certifications, and support for Windows 11 and popular Linux operating systems. It features a range of storage and expansion capabilities, allowing users to select the best components for complex and demanding tasks.
