Kirin Holdings Company, Limited has been honoured for two categories—Digital Health and Accessibility & Age Tech—at the CES Innovation Awards 2025 for the Electric Salt Spoon.
The Electric Salt Spoon enhances the saltiness and umami of low-sodium foods like soups and curries using a mild electrical current. Launched in May 2024 and developed with Prof. Homei Miyashita’s Miyashita Laboratory at Meiji University, it boosts saltiness by about 1.5 times with unique electrical waveform technology.
Kirin Holdings aims to collaborate with businesses and local governments to broaden product use and market, while also investigating its application in other tableware and low-sodium meal options.
This achievement marks the first-ever recognition for the Kirin Group at the CES Innovation Awards. Additionally, Kirin Holdings will make its debut as an exhibitor at CES 2025.
