Jameson REWIND House Party in Malaysia brings guests to the 90s and the noughties

Jameson has recently brought the 90s and 2000s back to The Godown on 22 June 2024 with the Jameson REWIND House Party. With 800 in attendance, guests partied into the night to a stellar lineup of live acts and DJs whilst enjoying a range of different activities in the carefully curated rooms.

At the Jameson REWIND House Party, Malaysians were invited to rewind to the yesteryears, when bonding happened face-to-face over belly laughs and pure unadulterated joy, without the cold, distracting glow of the screen. Guests were encouraged to rewind to the good ol’ times and make memories that will last a lifetime. Jameson REWIND was an exciting addition to its global ‘Widen the Circle’ campaign that celebrates epic moments and meaningful encounters that bring us closer together, making the world feel like a smaller place.

Before the House Party began, Jameson hosted the Jameson REWIND Cocktail Challenge Finals where the five finalists went through a surprise obstacle course before presenting their nostalgia-themed cocktails to the panel of judges. The surprise challenge saw finalists battling it out to create four glasses of Jameson Ginger & Lime – in an unconventional way, of course – to earn an additional 20 points on top of their final score. After presenting their respective cocktails, finally home bartender Priya Dharrsini and Justin from Good Friends Club Penang were declared the winners and will be sent for an all-expenses paid trip to Midleton Distillery, the home of Jameson Whiskey, for the epic Jameson HOSTS Global Summit.

Jameson brought the ‘house party’ experience to the next level at The GoDown with specially curated rooms, each offering a unique experience and activity:

  • The Yard’ on the ground floor had a plethora of delicious bites from The GoodFellas Kitchen + Bar, My BurgerLab, and Tok Pork, as well as a Jameson-infused Ais Kacang Ball from Penang Lang.
  • Upstairs in ‘The Gamer Den’, guests were invited to shoot some hoops and challenge their friends at some retro arcade games. Some of the guests treated themselves to a shave and haircut at the pop-up barbershop by The Underrated Barbershop, whilst others opted for a temporary tattoo, before snapping a pic at the polaroid locker booth as a memento. Guests could also choose to have a sneak peek into their future with a tarot card reading.
  • Up in ‘The Attic’, aka The Black Barrel Room, the party was lit from 7:30 PM onwards as guests grooved along to a mix of throwback Hip Hop and R&B tunes, punk rock classics, and a dash of pop hits from the Y2K era thanks to the electrifying all-DJ lineup — DJ Misty, MJ and DJ Reeve. Here, guests also enjoyed Jameson Black Barrel cocktails, got their hair braided, thrifted some cool fits at the Thrift Shop set up by Hundred Percent and 4 KICKS.
  • In the ‘Living Room Live’ main hall, some of the best local talents in the music industry came together for a jam-packed setlist ranging from their original songs, 90s pop and rock hits, earworm favourites and punk rock heavy hitters. The epic lineup featured EMO NIGHT KL, CLAUDIA, TY:DEL, The Peachskins, Saint Kylo, LOST SPACES, The Filters and Merakkiall leading the charge down an unforgettable trip down memory lane. The nostalgic vibes were complemented by the delicious ‘Asam Boy’ cocktail, specially concocted by Angel Ng from Triptyk Bar, inspired by flavours from her childhood.

The Jameson REWIND Party was more than just a party; it was a nostalgia-fuelled extravaganza complete with pop culture throwbacks, earworm classics and the chance to make new friends and some seriously epic memories – the #throwback party of the year that was not to be missed.

DRINK MORE WATER

Amidst the fun, nostalgia and epic moments, Pernod Ricard reminded consumers to stay hydrated and enjoy responsibly by drinking more water. As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting responsible drinking, Pernod Ricard’s ‘Drink More Water’ campaign was present throughout the Jameson REWIND House Party, emphasizing on the importance of making the right choices for a truly fun night to remember. ‘Drink More Water’ was first introduced in Malaysia last year with the goal to reach at least 5.7 million consumers through digital and on-ground activations.
