iQOO has officially launched the iQOO 12 for the Malaysia market as it takes inspiration from BMW M Motorsport with the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor with customised Supercomputing Chip Q1.
iQOO 12 is the first smartphone powered with Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor offered for the Malaysian market. The chipset comes with Adreno 750 GPU ensures dominant gaming, while paired with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS4.0 flash storage to provide seamless app loading and ample space for the latest mobile games. The custom Supercomputing Chip Q1 offers Game Super Resolution, Game Super Frame Rate and Game Display Enhancement.
The device also comes with a 5,000 mAh(TYP)Â Pro-Performance Graphite Battery that supports 120W FlashCharge. iQOO also adds power saving features which includes Battery Saver Mode and 0% Battery Instant Startup.
iQOO 12’s display is a 6.78-inch, 144Hz AMOLED LTPO display featuring 1.5K resolution, 452 PPI pixel density, and HDR10+ support. The display boasts a remarkable 80,00,000:1 contrast ratio and reaches 3,000 units of local peak brightness. With 105% NTSC colour gamut and 100% DCI-P3 accuracy, it ensures precise colour reproduction. The viewing experience is further enhanced with high-frequency 2,160Hz PWM dimming and low blue light eye protection.
iQOO 12 delivers an immersive gaming experience with its precise Large X-Axis Linear Motor for haptic feedback and Symmetrical Dual Stereo Speakers, enhancing directional cues in first-person shooter (FPS) games. The audio quality is exceptional, featuring clear instrument separation and improved bass frequencies through a spacious 1.2cc speaker chamber. To ensure comfort during extended gaming, the device incorporates a Four-Zone Cooling System, including a 6K Vapour Chamber for efficient CPU heat dissipation, a Low Temperature Sensitivity design, and an Under-Display Graphite Cooling Film to minimise hot spots and maintain a cool grip.
For camera, iQOO 12 packs a triple rear camera system with a Porthole Design. It features a powerful 50MP Astrography Camera with VCS2.0 biomimetic spectral technology for superior colour reproduction, the camera excels in low light. Utilising four-in-one pixel binning technology for an effective pixel size of 2.4µm, it offers impressive performance. Video recording includes 8K@30 FPS, 4K@30/60 FPS, and 720p,1080p video at up to 240 FPS for stunning slow-motion shots, with OIS and EIS stabilisation support for sharp photography. The setup also includes a Periscope Telephoto Camera and Wide-Angle Camera for a versatile imaging experience.
iQOO 12’s Periscope Telephoto Camera offers Ultra-Long Zoom with a 64MP (f/2.57) 1/2” sensor, 3X Optical Zoom, and 10X Zoom. It achieves an impressive 100X Digital Zoom using the N.I.C.E. (Neural Image Computational Engine) algorithm for noise cancellation and detail enhancement. The phone also features the Ultra HD Document 3.0 algorithm for clear screen presentations in collaboration with the telephoto lens. Additionally, for wide-angle shots, the dedicated 50MP (f/2.0) 1/2.76” sensor Wide-Angle Camera supports various wide-angle photography modes.
The iQOO 12 is offered in two colours: Legend (white) and Alpha (black) editions. The Legend edition inspired by BMW M Motorsport, features contoured edges and a white Porcelain Enamel Glass with three-dimensional pyramid nano-optical textures. Adorned with tri-color stripes and the Clous de Paris pattern, it embodies the spirit of racing. The Alpha edition focuses on light and shadow, featuring a black Fluorite AG glass body for a unique black with a subtle cold glow. Slim at 8.1mm and 203.7g, the iQOO 12 is IP64 dust and water-splash resistant, perfect for outdoor use. It runs on FuntouchOS 14 based on the latest Android 14 operating system.
