iQiyi International has released a new promotional video for its “SWEET ON” collection, featuring star actress Bai Lu. Released in the second half of 2021, the “SWEET ON” collection puts the spotlight on sweet romance dramas. With seven Chinese dramas of different styles and settings, the collection seeks to immerse viewers around the world in a sweet and romantic atmosphere.
Since the start of its run, “SWEET ON” has wowed audiences, with dramas such as “Moonlight”, “The Day of Becoming You”, and “Make a Wish” hitting the iQiyi Popularity Ranking Chart with every new episode released. As of end-July, these three dramas have garnered over 59 million views in the international market, proving the worldwide appeal of sweet dramas. Titled “Love Lessons”, Bai Lu’s new TV commercial sees her wandering freely in a colorful and romantic atmosphere, where she is surrounded by the words “I love you” spelt out in different languages. Food from different countries are also shown in the commercial, representing how iQiyi has various sweet romance dramas in different languages. In the video, Bai Lu acts out the range of emotions one may experience when they’re in love, such as shyness, happiness, and mischievousness; this highlights the , the feelings of affection that iQiyi wants to deliver to audiences.
At an interview with iQIYI International during the TV commercial shoot, Bai Lu spoke about the “SWEET ON” collection dramas that she has watched. She praised “Moonlight”, which features her good friend Esther Yu, for being very good and suitably sweet. She added that she would be interested in playing Liang Jie’s character Yu Shengsheng in “The Day of Becoming You”, as she is fascinated by the drama’s concept of exchanging souls. She also thanked all her overseas fans for their support, and called on everyone to experience the sweet romance portrayed in iQIYI’s “SWEET ON ” collection.
In the “SWEET ON” collection drama “Forever and Ever”, Bai Lu plays a top voice actress.
