If you’re staying in Malaysia and wondering what happened to the Max streaming service branding, well, Warner Bros. Discovery Asia-Pacific has recently officially changed its name to HBO Max. This move is aligned with its recent announcement changing to HBO Max for the US market, which features a snippet of John Cena introducing HBO Max for Peacemaker Season 2 trailer.
By having the HBO name with the Max branding, this allows many household and new users to be more aware of the streaming service. Being grown up watching shows like Entourage and movies like Harry Potter series from HBO, having just “Max” branding on its streaming service app feels like it was making fresh start, instead of evolution for its service. You may call me old school, but you just can’t take away the “HBO” branding, and I’m glad with the move to change the name!
Moving forward, HBO Max is going to be your streaming service for prestigious entertainment brands such as HBO, Warner Bros., Max Originals, DC, Harry Potter, as well as iconic shows like Friends and The Big Bang Theory.
