In response to the Malaysian Government’s initiative to enhance AI access and digital skills, Google is launching new AI tools for students ahead of the back-to-school season. Eligible university students in over 140 countries, including Malaysia, can access 12 months of Google AI Plus for free, along with AI-powered discounts on Google AI Pro and personalized study tools.

Through the Google AI Plus subscription, students can make the best of AI for learning with the given access to:
- Gemini Omni, where they can unleash creativity from any input, including video by just talking to it.
- Increased usage limits so they can power through busy exam periods.
- 400GB of storage to keep academic files organised and backed up.
Additionally, for students who are very familiar with AI, Google is offering the Google AI Plus plan at RM23.99/month (normally RM97.99). This plan provides four times the usual usage limits in Gemini, more features in Search, access to Gemini in Google apps like Gmail and Google Docs, 5 TB of storage, and YouTube Premium Lite. For more entertainment, students can upgrade to YouTube Premium with their Google AI Pro plan for just RM33.49/month (normally RM118.89).

Students can visit the official offer page to find out more about eligibility and sign up. These promotions are available until 31 December 2026.
In addition to these offers, Google is also introducing personalized study tools across Gemini and Search to help students begin the school year with more confidence and preparation, including:
- More personalised AI learning: Study Notebooks can turn diagnostic quizzes into bite-sized learning plans, while interactive 3D visualisations and Gemini Live help students better understand complex topics and prepare for oral exams and interviews.
- New tools for active learning: Practice Quizzes and Lens’ “Check My Work” guide students through problems step by step, helping them understand the learning process rather than simply providing answers.
- Extending AI support into the classroom: Guided Learning and Study Notebooks are also integrated directly into Google Classroom, giving educators additional ways to support and track students’ learning.
