The next Galaxy Watch is most likely getting the Google Wear OS treatment in an exclusive editorial by Samsung’s Janghyun Yoon, EVP and Head of S/W Platform Team.

In the editorial, he mentioned in this phrase, “…That’s why we decided to team up with Google, our long-standing strategic partner, to bring the best of our platforms together into one unified experience. As Head of the Software Development Team, I am thrilled to bring Samsung’s longstanding expertise in wearables to this joint effort in creating a blueprint for innovative future smartwatch experiences”. With that said, Galaxy device owners can expect the next Galaxy Watch to use the Google Wear OS for their ecosystem.
Apart from that, Janghyun is expecting more developers and partners to work with Samsung in evolving and redefining the smartwatch experience with the Galaxy Watch Studio. It also helps to bring a bigger and better network of apps to benefit Galaxy users around the world.
However, Janghyun also mentioned for existing Tizen OS based Galaxy smartwatches, Samsung is committed to provide at least three years of software support after the product launch.Â
