Galaxy Unpacked 2025 showcases New Era of AI Integration with Galaxy S25 Series

The Galaxy Unpacked 2025 took place at San Jose, California on 22 January 2025, open the door for the next wave of AI-powered experiences with Galaxy AI.

At the event, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S25 series, highlighting important hardware improvements and starting a new era of AI technology. These upgrades help users enhance creativity, connect better with others, and simplify daily tasks.

The Galaxy S25 series goes beyond a regular smartphone, serving as a platform for AI integration. Galaxy AI will enhance daily life by offering personalized and human-like interactions.

TM Roh, President and Head of the MX Business at Samsung Electronics, delivers his keynote address at Galaxy Unpacked 2025.

“The Galaxy S25 series has set a new standard of mobile AI innovation though an AI OS we built from the ground up,” said TM Roh, President and Head of the Mobile eXperience Business at Samsung Electronics, during his keynote address. “Thanks to One UI 7 and its integrated AI agents, users can effortlessly enjoy a more personalised, intuitive and natural mobile experience than ever before.”

New Ways To Get Things Done:  AI That Learns, Adapts and Delivers

At the core of the Galaxy S25 series is improved AI capabilities, supported by the new One UI 7 system. This update brings features that simplify tasks. For instance, the Now Brief feature learns user habits and shows personalized information like exercise updates, translations, and music directly on the lock screen, reducing the need to switch between apps.

Drew Blackard, VP of Product Management at Samsung Electronics America, introduces the audience to the Galaxy S25 series’ many advanced Galaxy AI features.

Another exciting feature is AI Select, which is new to the Galaxy S25 series. You can find it on the Edge Panel, and it acts like a personal AI helper. It can quickly summarize long articles or help create colorful images with Drawing Assist.

With One UI 7, the Galaxy S25 series has a built-in smart AI that understands natural language, images, and text. This allows users to interact easily and achieve more with little effort. For example, if you say “My eyes are tired,” the Galaxy S25 series will turn on the blue light filter. If you say, “Find a photo of Max from last winter in a red coat, eating cake,” it will search the Gallery app for that picture.

Circle to Search has been improved to find music playing on the screen without needing another app.

While watching YouTube videos, users can use voice commands like “Tell me the place mentioned in this video and save it as a Note,” and Galaxy AI, using Google’s Gemini, easily saves the location right to Samsung Notes.

Sissi Hsiao, VP at Google and GM for Gemini Experiences, discusses the collaboration between Samsung Electronics and Google.

The Galaxy S25 series includes a Personal Data Engine created with help from Oxford Semantic Technologies. This engine learns about user preferences and habits while protecting their information.

Additionally, the Galaxy S25 series uses C2PA (Coalition for Content Provenance and Authenticity) standards. This helps promote transparency and trust, making sure privacy is a key focus in today’s AI-driven digital world.

Jay Kim, EVP and Head of Customer Experience Office at Mobile eXperience Business, Samsung Electronics, explains the evolution of One UI into an integrated AI platform.
