In terms of driver assistance features, the next-gen Everest Sport and Trend come equipped with emergency stop signal, turn assist, cruise control, front and rear parking sensors and a reverse camera. The high-grade next-gen Everest Titanium adds on a range of advanced driver assistance systems including blind spot information system (BLIS), lane departure warning & assist (LDW), high beam assist and a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Other new and enhanced technologies include:
- New: Adaptive cruise control with stop and go and lane centering is able to detect lane markings and help keep the vehicle centred in the lane.
- New: Active Park Assist 2.0 allows next-gen Everest to help drivers into parallel or perpendicular spots with the press of a button. With the aid of ultrasonic sensors, the system takes care of the steering, gearshifts, acceleration and braking to navigate into tight parking spots. It will also help steer the vehicle out of a parallel parking spot.
- New: Evasive steer assist helps drivers avoid potential forward collisions by helping drivers steer with less effort when a collision cannot be avoided by braking alone.
- New: Reverse brake assist helps drivers to reverse into parking spots and other tight spaces by providing audible and visual warnings. It can detect a vehicle crossing or a cyclist or pedestrian behind the vehicle too. The system can even bring the Everest to a complete stop if the driver doesn’t react in time.
- New: Rear cross-traffic alert warns of traffic approaching from the sides when the vehicle is in reverse, which helps when backing out of a driveway or parking spot.
- Autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, dynamic brake support and pre-collision assist. Besides preventing or reducing the severity of a collision with a vehicle, pedestrian or cyclist directly in front of the vehicle, the pre-collision assist has been enhanced to provide emergency braking support at an intersection.
