The Mother’s Home International Foundation (MHIF) has recently opened Malaysia’s first “Mother’s Home” (Rumah Ibu) in Sabah, providing temporary assistance, medical and psychological support, legal counseling, and training for vulnerable women. The foundation is founded in 2023 by Kazakh businessman Aidyn Rakhimbayev and Arsen Tomsky. The initiative addresses the increasing cases of baby abandonment in Malaysia, highlighting the importance of a supportive network for mothers facing unplanned pregnancies.
Arsen Tomsky emphasizes the mission to help mothers find stability and prevent child abandonment. Ir. Shahul Hamid adds that Rumah Ibu is crucial for empowering women and preventing the need for them to give up their children. The initiative aligns with the values of the Ekonomi Madani, promoting fairness and inclusivity while strengthening the social safety net.
Since launching in Kazakhstan in 2013, the Mother’s Home initiative has expanded to 20 centers in 18 cities, aiding over 10,787 infants and preventing many from entering orphanages. International expansions are underway, with a goal in Malaysia to support over 100 women and children annually and further expand across the country.
