
Ballistic Moon has announced that Until Dawn is getting an enhanced look, and a completely new soundscape. Neil McEwan, Creative Director at Ballistic Moon has shared that the game is rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5 and will deliver enhancements across the board, thanks to the effort from the team of horror lovers, film fanatics, and veteran game makers at Ballistic Moon.
Until Dawn has been rebuilt with the latest tools and techniques. New and improved animations build on the success of the original character performances. Characters, environments and VFX have been upgraded – all for a truly enhanced cinematic horror experience.







Neil also said that the game now uses a broader cinematic tonal colour palette and new perspectives to make the story more nuanced and emotional. Apart from that, the team also to add light into the dark, unseen corners of Blackwood Mountain and added a third-person camera, allowing players to explore enhanced and new locations with new interactions and collectables.Â
The game’s audio also gets a massive overhaul and featuring a new score from legendary horror composer Mark Korven.
The enhanced version of Until Dawn for PS5 and PC is coming later this year.
It is also announced that a new film adaptation of Until Dawn from PlayStation Productions and Sony’s Screen Gems, to be directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation), and a screenplay written by Gary Dauberman (It: Chapter Two, The Nun and The Nun II) and Blair Butler (The Invitation).
